For me, the most terrifying part is losing your loved ones in horrific fashion. I am fast and strong, my sisters arent. If they died and I failed to protect them, I dont think id be able to continue on living.
i have a zombie apoc or alien invasion dream once a week. sometimes I get dreams that feel like I'm in Cloverfield and im just running through a city dealing with various happenings like looters and stray bullets and random things.I also get dreams that start as zombie apoc but then turn into alien invasion, I dunno it's weird how the mind does dreams, they can blend seamlessly.I also get dreams where the threat is random criminals, lots of getting shot dreams, those are usually nightmares and I usually wake up when I get shot.

The Battle of Yonkers section of the World War Z book is great because the reasons that cause the rout, bringing in useless equipment, loading down soldiers with crap that serves no purpose and limits movement, not ensuring you even have enough ammo since you don't take the enemy seriously, using ordinance that's ineffective against zombie physiology but is flashy just so you can show it all off to the press, is something that you can realistically imagine happening especially with someone like Hegseth in charge now

People have this weird fantasy of surival being some ultimate hardcore test of your skills even though it really isn't. Surviving is easy. It's just doing some basic chores and that's it.
