Well that was a cover, the other stuff Kikuo did outside of Kikuohana is also more distinct but the Kikuohana stuff is probably his best stuff(Hitogawari is from one of those albums too). Got any Shinsei Kamatte stuff you'd be up to share? Never heard of them before.

Kikuo definitely isn't for everyone though, although the Kikuohana albums are all voiced at least. Shinsei Kamatte is not what I was expecting given your expectations for Kikuo either. For the psychic stuff, here's the basic types I came up with. The world overall is basically set in the 90s(a time when technology hadn't yet raped us with widespread internet usage B'^)) and there's a phenomenon that occurs where anomalous, paranormal objects and entities phase into reality and with it comes various psychics. The psychics themselves have some genetic propensity for their abilities but all psychics come with brain abnormalities so in the best case scenarios they're just eccentric but the more of those psychic genes they get, the more fucked up they become in addition to their power(and even anomalous psychic abilities).

>Psychotaxics
On the surface their general category seems like just astral projection but in the canon they're highly misunderstood and their projected souls can actually develop a variety of capabilities. For the most part in the setting though they just are used as spies and guards against other psychotaxics(as they can learn to repel them).
>Somacratics
The psychic powers that they exhibit don't go past their skin. Whilst focusing on their abilities they can generally harden their skin against attacks and impart more force into their blows.
>Telekinetics
Your basic telekinetic psychics, although some can exhibit odd quirks to their motions. Two sisters I had envisioned actually imparted spin in their crushing forces as a weird genetic trait to it.
>Thermocratics
These are mostly pyrokinetics, although rarely some are cryokinetics(thus "thermo").

In addition to them being able to project blasts of whatever end of the thermal equilibrium they're on, they also have weird and anomalous resistances and abilities revolving around their powers. Cryokinetics can freeze themselves solid and remain alive. Not even in a "I'll be thawed out and survive, but I'm just frozen" sort of way, but their hearts actually beat and physiologically they're just asleep with their blood flowing and all whilst consuming no calories or needing to breath or do other things usually associated with, well, living. They'll even dream. Inversely pyrokinetics, whilst in their own firestorm have a stark lack of a need for oxygen and don't develop the issues that come with smoke inhalation.
>Telepathics
I already kind of mentioned them before, but they can't quite read minds but instead can sense people nearby and really good telepathics can pick up on people's intentions. However they're basically radio beacons for their own thoughts without some kind of device to limit them(or in some cases that can be amplified for a deadly effect) and can thus mentally earrape people. Telepathics are actually the best weapon to use on all of the other types of psychics because of that. Since all of the psychic abilities require focus, telepathics easily disrupt their abilities and leave them helpless.

Some other bits were that the really inbred/overly bred psychics that I had envisioned in that world don't just develop the usual mental disorders/defects(like being neurologically deaf/blind/paralyzed) but develop bizarre behaviors or fascinations along with abilities that don't fit into those previous 5 categories. One character in that vein was totally devoid of language, lacked any social drive or care and was a cannibal. His ability overlapped with being a somacratic but required no focus(was always active) and he could remove himself from people's perception. The only way to see him was to look through a camera or a mirror.

Lastly if a psychic got pushed to a mental breaking point they'd completely lose their minds and become a kind of soulless husk that either had an overly powerful form of their abilities or developed anomalous abilities. For this reason alone, psychics are all rounded up because just leaving them alone in the world is just waiting for someone to get abused and then turn into a neverending firestorm that can't be shut off without shelling the area until you luck out and kill the husk at the center of it. Those husks likewise don't require food, sleep, water or even air.

There was also a category of special psychics called "Geminis" but I think I might've expositioned enough for now B^).

The idea behind them is that they're one of the anomalous entities that show up. They come in two varieties:

>dead tree stump
The commonalities between the two of them is that their "roots" are more like the arms of a brittlestar and thus they move like them too. (vid related https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuMX47UUqK8 )

At the bottom of their trunks they also have a beak like that of a sea urchin's, pic related. They're both scavengers and predators, but where they differ is in their hunting styles. The dead tree variant wait in ambush. When an animal or person comes by and turns their back to them they quickly lean and then slam down into them to crush them. They'll often have their young around them too who will resemble dead saplings.

The stump variant are very eerie though. They stalk their prey and hunt only in packs. When animal or a person goes into the woods with these things, the stump treefish will stalk them. Only when enough of them are around will they surround their prey and then gallop at them to eat grasp them and eat them alive. Brittlestars are also known to sometimes grab onto prey and then eat them :)
