thread for me but with a lust provoking image (i wanna poke his muscles)
>>
today i learnt gilles deleuze killed himself by throwing himself out a window. im surprised more philosophers didn't kill themselves, they all seem so fucking neurotic
>>
>>83667048
deleuze only did it because he was suffering from TB, and before he did it he was working on a book that was sucking off karl marx
>>
>>83667055
i should buy the other hello kitty/sanrio book for das kapital since i already got the nietzsche one
>>
>eating while watching pyrocynical watch a video with dead bodies
>but the abortion doom mod is what kills my appetite
>>
>>83667162
i really should play doom eventually but after playing that 1992 wolfenstein inside if wolfenstein tno/tnc idk if i could do it
>>
>>83667029
Did you end up watching that true facts video about sea stars last night? If you didn't then there will be consequences >B^).
>>
>>83667029
I dropped the zombie mad scientist bl, pure fujoslop. I could hardly get invested in the 2 leads with them being such hateable people in ways that aren't very interesting. Also old man yaoi is gross
>>83667247
>1992 wolfenstein
Very, very different game from doom 1 + 2. It's like going from a silent film to technicolor, big jump.
>>
>>83667337
i didnt, so whatre the consequences?

>>83667395
:( they aren't old, hes only around 30 and hes just balding. this is discrimination against early norwooders. also ig not everyone can understand his little ideas on things.
>Very, very different game from doom 1 + 2. It's like going from a silent film to technicolor, big jump.
idk man they looked similar enough
>>
>>83667442
The consequences are that you have missed out on some really cool facts, like the sea urchins that act like angry bee hives of the sea. Watch the video >B^( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZ20KsgVeu0

you know, i used to be subscribed to this channel so theres a non-zero chance ive already watched this at some point

Zefrank is great, I can't believe you ever stopped being subscribed to him. If you remember angry sea bees then you've definitely watched it before, that or you recognize pic related.
>>
>>83667513
i didnt watch his content anymore and wasnt interested, so i stopped. i want to scroll my sub feed without seeing 300 channels i dont watch, so you know. also apparently its harmful to stay subscribed to channels you dont watch, cant remember why but i heard another youtuber i used to watch say it
>>
>>83667513
also tbf i dont know if i watched it, i cant remember everything i watch or see s.m.h. i did rewatch it anyways tho

This is the most egregious crime you have ever committed(not loving biology enough). The sub thing makes sense if they want to maximize views from Youtube's perspective. Promote channels that people want to watch more and thus get more content viewers and all. I doubt it's that dire to be subscribed to a channel you don't really watch anymore though, I think that guy was just being overdramatic.
>>83667549
I love the swarms of little biting nubs :). One of the coolest things any animal has ever evolved. Echinoderms are the strangest fucking things from an evolutionary point of view. For reference they're most closely related to worms and then next up is us and sea squirts. We're more closely related to these radially symmetrical freaks than we are to bugs.

Also it's my own personal belief that the Vetulocolians were relatives of the echinoderms. I love them too, they're so freaky looking :).
>>
>>83667571
>I doubt it's that dire to be subscribed to a channel you don't really watch anymore though, I think that guy was just being overdramatic.
perhaps, but id still unsubscribe anyways. i still hate having my feed clogged with stuff i dont watch. im incredible particular about it
>We're more closely related to these radially symmetrical freaks than we are to bugs.
how are we related to those things at ALL?
>>
>>83667676
My sub feed is just a giant mess. I always need new stuff to watch, so I don't mind if most of it is stuff I don't want to watch anyhow.
>how are we related to those things at ALL?
Well we're both deuterostomes, the formation of our mouths starts after our anuses. The earliest relatives to stuff like echinoderms also looked more worm-like(which both us and them evolved from what was basically just a worm) but were already really fucking freaky. Pic related is one of such relatives. It's considered to either be within the group Ambulacraria or a relative of them, but that group contains the echinoderms and the worms I mentioned before(acorn worms, also known as "hemichordates". We're the chordates, for reference). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herpetogaster

I don't know if there's any official theory established for the radial symmetry of echinoderms, but it's my belief that something like Herpetogaster is where it all started. A stalked, worm-like critter that developed a radial set of arms to catch food from the water column. So that the first echinoderms were like sea lilies/crinoids and the rest came about from them. Sea squirts are weird in their own right too, just look at them and the larvaceans. The larvaceans are cool though because they'll make snot homes :). He's like a tadpole in a ball of snot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1wFb_ShW7k
>>
>>83667442
>:( they aren't old, hes only around 30
I'm young, 30 is old to me. Like, call you uncle/auntie at the family gathering old. Also wdym by little ideas?
>idk man they looked similar enough
Colour pallets? Map design? Enemy complexity? Soundtrack differences? It's really big how big of a step up it is technologically. So much actually that the Wolfenstein easter egg in DOOM feels different to play from wolfenstein itself.
>>
>>83667784
>I always need new stuff to watch, so I don't mind if most of it is stuff I don't want to watch anyhow.
we are very different in this regard
>the formation of our mouths starts after our anuses.
i regret asking this question now because i forgot this fact and wouldve loved to never be reminded.
>Pic related is one of such relatives
i remember you telling me about this one a while back, it is freaky, but in 2 senses
>freaky - unnatural, weird
>freaky - sexual, it looks like a dick worm
>they'll make snot homes :). He's like a tadpole in a ball of snot.
thank you for making me wanna vomit even more than i already did

>>83667803
oh come on, 30s arent old. how old are you anon? also most of the anons in my threads are nearing 30, so this is very offensive to them
>Colour pallets? Map design? Enemy complexity? Soundtrack differences? It's really big how big of a step up it is technologically.
i mean obviously theres differences, theyre 2 seperate games, but the gameplay itself is incredibly similar.
>>
>>83667892
>oh come on, 30s arent old. how old are you anon?
20. 30 is old, unless you're going for a masters you've been out of school for years by that point. The oldest zoomers are like late 20s, 30 is millennial territory. And millennials are kinda lame, no offense to the old folks.
>gameplay itself is incredibly similar.
How can you say without really playing both to compare?
>>
>>83667892
You'll become more like me in this regard with age, probably. The anus and mouth thing is actually less weird in the context of the evolutionary history -- or well, maybe it's more gross but I don't think so. Before we had butts or mouths it's more than likely that animals utilized a method of feeding more like placozoans, pic related. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Placozoa

The anus forming first is probably just some artefact of this and the process of forming a throughgut but it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. It's better than the alternative with stuff like flatworms anyhow who just puke up the digested food they ate and excrete waste through their skin.

I was thinking more of an alien worm, but now I see the dick-like qualities. Could be worse, there are literal penis worms out there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priapulida
Also don't get grossed out by nature! Snot isn't even that gross anyway, their food is what's gross instead because it's literal poop, rotting flesh and other waste.
>>
>>83667925
oh, same age as me. "old" shouldnt be measured by how much time youve been outta school, thats something a middle schooler would think s.m.h.
>And millennials are kinda lame, no offense to the old folks
/an/on here is technically a millenial and hes not lame, you're being so mean right now, stealing my job of bullying too while youre at it
>How can you say without really playing both to compare?
ive watched a lotta doom gameplay so im qualified enough to compare the 2 in my own head

>>83667956
>spoiler
ehh, i dont think i will. if anything, i think by that age ill stop consuming anything other than books.
>utilized a method of feeding more like placozoans, pic related
that would make sense. also how is anuses any better than excreting through the skin, i think thats kinda cool actually. in a gross way, but cool nonetheless.
you have an innocent mind if you didnt see the dick shape straight away, and for that i commend you.
also, all of those things are equally disgusting
>>
i get paid tomorrow, i need to remember to buy bird seed to feed my local magpies. i wish crows came near my house, cause id feed them steak too. i love crows so much

Maybe, maybe. As for the anuses, it's better for when you're digging through stuff like an earthworm. The dominant biome in the ancient seas of Earth used to be microbial mat biomes. These were basically tough, living carpets of bacteria and fungi and protists. The idea is that a worm that burrows and eats through that can suddenly make safe hiding spots within the mat and also feed whilst doing so. Before that, the earliest signs of any eating you had for an animal was with Dickinsonia(which has been compared to placozoans). In pic related you can see a fossilized microbial mat, a Dickinsonia and also its feeding traces where it shows imprints(the outlined bits) on the mat where it had consumed the material beneath it before moving to a new spot to repeat the process. Also my mind is far from innocent, I just focused on the arms and stalk bits so the flanged head slipped my mind. The deep sea is very disgusting indeed, besides cold seep biomes and hydrothermal vent communities. Those are the communities/biomes where food is actually produced in the deep instead of it having fallen down from the surface and because of that they have all kinds of cool life and an abundance of it.

In cold seeps methane will actually form a kind of ice too, methane clathrate. Here's a nice video of some from the deep sea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjqyGCZMBcQ
Worms will sometimes even burrow in that stuff and there's also this cool video of a crab trying to eat bubbles only for this hydrate to gum up his mouth as it formed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fq7MFJGTnX0
>>
>>83668139
who the fuck decided to name this thing dickinsonia, biologists really love penis.
>spoiler
i think that still shows you have some innocence :] it kinda looks like a tree penis. with all those branch like things. i hate it, im surprised that one didnt get the dick naming.

>>83668344
It was named after someone actually B^). Biologists also love to name things after themselves or after people they admire. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anophthalmus_hitleri

It probably had a really badly preserved holotype(original specimen), so it didn't quite look as dick-shaped. For reference here's a picture of a fossil of one. Its name apparently means "crawling stomach". Also the horrific ideas that pop into my head show that I'm not so innocent, just not as sexual B^). You certainly wouldn't call those treefish I came up with as something wholesome, would you?

theres gay pornstar autobiographies thatre a better read

thatd make more sense :) also based that they refused to change the name of it, im not surprised by the amount of pushback tho. pussies

decided ill read the rest of zaregoto really slowly on my laptop with its ipad screen, because paying $50 to get 2 books printed off would be a hit i cant afford

men who say the tatami galaxy is their one of favourite animes have a very specific air about them that scares me a little
>>
>>83670168
i wonder if i could get these translations printed into real books for my collection. like, theyll look exactly like the other books. maybe next year when i have more money.
>>
i genuinely can never forgive kodansha for taking zaregoto away from me. i still remember preordering the 4th book so fucking excited. i think it was around mid 2019 when it had been announced, and book 3 was just about to come out, and i had preordered it too. i was 13, about to be 14, living in my aunts house. i sat outside all day waiting for book 3 to arrive once it was marked as "coming today". i think i was on the front porch drawing juuni taisen (another work by nisioisin) porn of the chicken girl at the time. i was so excited, and i remember all that, and yet i didnt remember book 3 at all.
anyways, i had preordered book 4, it hady favourite cover of all the books. i think it was slated to release around my birthday or early 2020, but it never did. i also NEVER GOT MY MONEY BACK AFTER IT GOT CANCELLED BY THE WAY
>>
>>83670288
i was very emotional writing this, lots of typos and poor wording
>>
>>83670288
i should sue kodansha for making my life significantly worse
>>
>>83670297
kodansha has been letting a lot of works i enjoy fall out of print recently, so, you know, it does have a pretty big effect on me. and my wallet. $700 for volume 7 of the xxxholic omnibus, are you kidding me? $100+ for volume 2 of xxxholic rei. sankareas manga is getting left to rot, too
>>
this fan translation is ok. i really love everything, except for the fact speech is translated with no indicators, so without names its hard to follow. altho that couldve been how nisioisin himself wrote it. which would mean i dont like his writing in this book for that, but id rather blame the translator than pick faults with the writer himself. and that's only because hes one of my favourites, so i can easily forgive him
>>
>>83670492
i say nisioisin, inio asano, and shuzo oshimi are my big three, but idk if i can really say shuzo oshimi is a favourite, especially when i compare to the other 2. i like his works, they're interesting, i like his themes, his art, but i don't *love* them the way i love inio asano or nisioisin. speaking of, their names are kinda similar, their works have a handful of similarities too.

a difference between nisioisin and inio asano is that, one of them has clearly read a wide range philosophy, while the other has ONLY read japanese. well maybe not only, but theyre the ones that influence his works the most.
i had more to write on that but im tired so unless i get reinvigorated while reading, ill say whatever else another day. i hate things being unrefined, i hate making mistakes, i hate sounding like a fool. tho i totally am one, and im a massive faggot
>>
>>83670537
i hope no one ever reads the things i say in my threads like this. tho obviously i hope i do otherwise i wouldn't say them anyways

thats a terrible thought.
also, thats the only one i know of, and im pretty sure its the most popular. the title is pretty eye-catching, to say the least. like the "capitalism and schizophrenia" of pornstar autobiographies.
all good, i assumed that was the case. about to do the same myself probably. whatre you having for lunch?

>love finds a way
that love should find a way to beam gay porn into his head and give him an early life crisis as revenge, even if he's been drafted or something. idk what the obsession with gay porn is, i really like throwing it in as a joke wherever i can
>>
alright, bed time... goodnight arghnein'kay
