Today's movie was The Black Phone

I really liked the time period, the 80s. it must have been so cool to be a teen in the 80s. i quite liked this movie, even though i don't like movies about kids being kidnapped. this is the second movie on the list that has been about kids being kidnapped, it just feels like hollywood is taunting the public (you know since there's all the conspiracy theories about child abuse from hollywood). My favorite part of the movie was when the phone rang as fin (the main character) was strangling the bad guy with the phone cord and he put the phone to the dudes ear and was like "it's for you" that was a cold line, that was cool, and then all the previous kids start taunting him too, over the phone, that was a nice little scene. At the start of the movie it was a little silly when the dad was beating fins little sister and every time he'd strike her he'd grunt, you can tell the writers weren't beaten as kids because your dad doesn't grunt when he hits you, like he'll yell at you, but grunting while swinging a belt is so unrealistic, i couldn't help but laugh.

I'll give this movie a 3.5 out of 5

Nice, I really like that one.
It was cool how everything little thing he did while in captivity ended up serving a purpose during the climax (like the steaks and shit)

yeah, i liked that too. it was like the little revenge of the previous kids. my favorite of the kids was the one with the pinball machine flash back, he was like a metal head, pretty cool. though i do hope there's no more kidnapped children movies.

the fact that there was a sequal to the black phone had me thinking throughout the movie that maybe the main character was gonna die and it would be like an unsolved case or the villain gets away or something, but that didn't happen so i wonder how they do a sequel. maybe there's like a copycat grabber.

tvs culture isn't to my liking, i don't like those niggers, they're all mean and they wouldn't like a thread like this it would just die immediately. a daily thread just wouldn't work there.

Honestly I think this movie brought me to tears, it reminded me about people beating the shit out of me and joking about how easy it was to get away with it. Honestly I cried when I watched this movie and I never want to watch a sequel of it.
Honestly I want nothing to do with young adult authers. I don't want to influence anyone. I assume a lot of people played this stuff out from their heart and fuckin I don't want to think about this shit anymore.

"I'm going to kidnap you and put you in this basement with no way to get out (and not rape you or anything, I'm just gonna keep you there for... reasons)... also I'm leaving this phone on the wall to help you escape"
Wut?

the phone was disconnected it was a ghost phone that talked to the dead. Also one of the kids mentioned that there were steps to what the guy did which implies there might have been rape at step 2, he called it the game of naughty boy. if the boy tries to escape when he leaves the door ajar he whips him with the belt until he passes out, then the second phase of the game was his favorite game according to one of the kids which they leave open to the imagination but i'm assuming it was rape and then the next steps of the game who knows what they are, but it ends in the kids being killed.

i liked how the main character wasn't a fan of violence, like when the bully character was getting beaten by the mexican kid he chose to not stick around and watch and said no one deserves to get beaten like that, it shows the character had a compassionate heart, i liked that about him.
the scene where he got bullied and jumped by the 3 bullies, were you bullied like that anon? i never understood bullying, there wasn't any bullying at my high school, but in middle school people bullied anime watchers who naruto ran.

I never seen it. Sister and my friend's gf say it's a good movie. I have more interest in watching the sequel cause it just looks like a nightmare on elm street.
>>
>>83668427
isn't nightmare on elm street a slasher?
this was a kidnap and getting away from kidnapper, and i assume the sequel does the same formula.
>>
>>83668501
Trailer of the sequel made the sequel look like a nightmare on elms street clone.
>>
>>83668511
oh maybe they do something different for the sequel.

Day 70 will feel more like a documentary than a movie...
>>
>>83667944
not op, but /tv/ is too fast and it's basically 80's memes and generals now
it was one of my favorite boards years ago and now i only visit a few times a month for stargate and trek
