They see stuff like dressing kind of weird or whatever and go "why is she doing that?" and figure "well if I was doing that, this would be why" and project it onto us. It was both boys and girls, they were equally bad, it's just that girls act like the video while boys are slightly less vicious but also more direct. The result of that was me being ignored for all of elementary school and some of middle school. Then I went to a smaller school and things got better.
