I've followed the rule to never ask out a fast food worker for a decade. However, I thought there was spark with a cashier, someone back waiting in line, making sure I got the same woman by allowing people to go in front of me, waiting there like an idiot for some Karen to get her order right, and once I reached her, I got embarassingly rejected.
We had a conversation about anime. So my first question was "Hey, so are you in college?" She was smart enough to understand what I meant, she said "oh no!" and looked away for someone to come to her. I apologized and left immediately.
