A year ago I got into a new hobby, which is pretty cool3D printing and painting minis. I used to play vidya all the time and doomscrolling which is not very productive nor is it in any way fulfilling.With 3D printing I can get the model files for free (finally "You wouldn't download a car" is real, I can and will download a car and build it IRL; some guy did it and build a Ferarri afaik lmao), print them for cheap and then don't worry if I fuck up the painting process, I can just print a new one. Normally these fucking things are expensive as fuck which is annoying if you have literally zero skill to paint them thus increasing the pressure to make a good paintjob. The whole activity of assembling and painting the models is also a very meditating activity. Putting on some music or some long video in the background and just paint. Only thing that annoys me to no end is the lack of skill on my part.
