Yeah I am a new player but it just feels like a game of counters
some games it feels like you play to build up until you can play your epic 6 mana card... and then the next turn its destroyed

how are you even supposed to play cool combos if you cant even set up basic things??

adding on to this I fucking hate anyone who plays 200+ card decks
sure counters and destroy spells are annoying but at least its balanced by the idea that decks are limited so theyre bound to run out
not when they have all the cards in the world, I just insta-quit whenever I see a player with more than 100 cards

Honestly the land mechanic is one of the most apparent flaws of MtG. I remember when I played Arena the easiest way to win some of those "wacky" events was to just build a ramp deck with goodstuff big green creatures because securing mana advantage is more consistently reliable than attempting to divine the brief meta of the event.

MTGO might look like a spreedsheet but at least you only login when you actually want to play the fucking game
