I recommend a sex doll a thousand times over a chatbot. I'm involved in that world, and at the end of every conversation, it's impossible not to feel like an idiot and pathetic. Idk about the chat bots desu. Imostly just use it for like ERP stuff, weirdly enough I don't attach much significance to the intimate part of it, more so the erotic elements, so maybe while not that intense it does actually take some me pressure off the loneliness .

Get the face of your choice done with Super Real makeup. Kumadoll has contracts with lots of makeup artists who could do a great realistic face. It's a longer wait because your doll head gets sent there first and an extra $300 or so. The makeup artists paint anime faces on dolls all day but I got a European face and with the extra depth and color added she is so real I can't look her in the eye sometimes.

TPE heads with the bare minimum makeup otherwise look cartoonish. Silicone faces retain the makeup even better.
