As in he failed miserably, his boy gets taken away, his baby mama talks all this gucci and he becomes a broken alcoholic pan handling for change. Those are the lives of the 20 rejects for every success. They tried just as hard as he did, but what was the difference? Dumb luck. These sentimental movies aren't movies about the indomitable human spirit, but rather movies about lucky bastid lottery tickets like Charlie finding the golden ticket. A few success stories in the graveyard of millions. Life doesn't owe you a narrative. It could all be bullshit and then you die.
