How does one deal with this
>>
>>83685563
im sorry op
there is no easy way to deal with
enjoy what time you have left with them
>>
Time. I lost my dad and multiple animals. You dont get over it
>>
its an extremely hard thing to go through, if youre sure theres nothing more you can do i suggest spending as much time with your dog as you can and try to make things as comfortable as possible.
>>
Trust me you will think about your pet 10 years from now. Death stays with you forever
>>
>How does one deal with this
you get a new one.
>>
This happened to me recently with the dog whobhad been in the family for 13 years. I think my emotions are broken. It didnt really effect me much. I mean sure, i was sad, but it wasnt earth shattering like it was to everybody else in my family. Im not trying to brag or seem edgy. The thing i was saddest abiut was that i wasnt more sad about the dog. I felt like there was something wrong with me.
So in short, i guess my answer is to be emotionally numb about it.

Feed him raw human grade whole food. It will extend his lifespan.
>>
i legit started wanting to quit doing dog walks and dog sittings because id get random out of the blue text messages letting me know their dog died
>>

you don't, I had several cats die and it never gets easier. There's no coping with it, it will just get less painful as time goes by.
>>
Is it your first dog? Holy shit that's a doozy of an experience if so. There's no cope. Just letting the pain hit you and dealing with it.

First one's the worst one by far. Loss is just the other side of love, no way around it.

i was catatonic for a month when my childhood dog died. when my dad died it took about eight hours. animal deaths destroy you. /an/ will likely help you through it, they understand.

my dog died 2 months ago, basically you dont deal with it. at least if your like me ive had her since i was 9 you will be a different person after they die. i was going to kill myself when she died but after i simply dont see the need. im basically already dead

This is good advice. I started feeding my old dog that stuff that comes refrigerated and he is more active and acts really excited for meals

I'm sorry anon. Pray for him and be grateful for the good boy. They are awesome. Adopt one after to keep up the good work
>>

Save him. Feed him wholesome nutritious dog food. Give him massages.

>How does one deal with this
you need to get another dog as soon as possible

Mine is also dying soon. He is 18 years old and riddled with health issues, so I'm sure he will die this year. He spends most of the day asleep, and, when not, his mind and senses are so dulled that he is in a constant state of confusion. I don't think he recognizes me anymore.
Death, when it comes in the form of old age, is just the end of a long and continuous process of dissolution of the mind and body. Senility leaves any person or animal practically dead long before they actually die.

It had an extremely nice fullfilling life full lf care and love. I think just taking him to the park for old times sake and wishing him a just as happy life as this one in the next. Its still gonna suck for a while due to the habits you wont have anymore suddenly. But just honoring his memory and time will do wonders.

Do remember to still go on walks and taking care of yourself, try to not let yourself fall into the sticky mud of depression. Condolences anon
