Why not raise a Grey parrot, since you won't get married anyway?
>>
>>83686009
Too big and noisy for my apartment, and I can't be home long and often enough during the week to properly take care of one. Even with 2 (the minimum I'd be willing to take so they don't get bored to death and such) they require care and attention I can't provide alone.
>>
>>83686009
birds require way more care than they are worth

I accept that I'm a birdcel. just give me one I don't have to touch a woman ever in my life

These things can live for 50 years, do NOT get one unless you're ready for a lifelong commitment. Also I don't get the point of birds, or tiny pets that you can't really hug and cuddle with. Also with birds you keep them in a cage most of the time which is super sad.

Basically this. If you get a grey parrot as a chick, in all probability it will likely outlive you. That's the same kind of responsibility as having a cat or a dog, but with an animal that has roughly the same lifespan you do and is as intelligent as a small child.

Also if I was going to get a large sized bird like a parrot, I think I'd rather have a raven. Parrot gives homosexual pirate energy, and I need everyone to know how dark and brooding I am
>>
>>83686318
that's exactly what I want.. a lifelong companion ..... I would never be alone...
>>
>>83686009
>mindlessly shits anywhere
>apparently they produce some sort of dust for their feathers that gets everywhere
>loud as fuck, they can learn to mimic speech but they still are birds that will just randomly screech for some reason that wouldnt make sense as a rational human agent
>>
>>83686423
just hearing 'Hello?' after a tiresom day would wash all my fatigue away.. sigh ....
>>
>>83686009
get a rabbit instead and an indoor garden

Birds you can hug and cuddle. Had a cockatiel that you could pet and rub his neck.
>Also with birds you keep them in a cage most of the time which is super sad.
Mine was outside the cage all the time. Just in the cage at night for sleeping. Last 10 years the cage was open 24/7, and he knew to go inside to sleep.

Miss that little guy. He died last year at age 25

I'm glad that they do because they're heckin' cute.
>>
>>83687895
idk i guess they have big eyes ratio compared to the rest of their face but like their sagging checks make them look ugly especially when other animals have the same cute factors like being small/fluffy ears/large eyes like rabbits but no visible wrinkles/facial sag, its just not ideal, if the pug didnt have any of those wrinkles then it might be permissible or if it were natural but it was done purpose and the results just dont look good

I've always liked pugs, but I feel sad for them because of their breeding, they end up with health issues.

I think pugs are cute regardless of the wrinkles. Just like an attractive woman will still be attractive regardless of wrinkles imo.

Yeah, my family pug actually passed away about 4ish months ago. He was put down, because he had internal bleeding or something like that. R.I.P. to the lil guy.

How did this not trip the originality filter??? I HAD TO EDIT MY RESPONSE TO THIS?!?!?
>>
>>83687944
>I think
that if the criteria is cute factor in a dog and given the wide diversity of dog breeds and the artifical supply of said dogs determined by controlled breeding, and nudges by shelter volunteers, that pugs should be breed less and advertised less in favor of objectively more cute dog breeds with all other variables consistent (same size, intelligence, cost, whatever). Like there are dog breeds that retain their cute aspect even after they're no longer a puppy like the corgior the Miniature American Shepherd
>>
>>83687982
Yeah I found it quite strange too. Maybe because one of the posts has a pic attached? Or because both are in the same thread? Or because bazinga anon found a way to hack the originality filter?
We'll never know.
>>
>>83687982
Usually by using zero-width joiners and other fun utf-8 characters. Same basic trick as triforcing.
>>
>>83688006
this board is ASCII text only, it can really be as simple as that no one else has said muh birdcel before and the two posts are different because the first one is on one line and the second one has the presence of an new line
>>
>>83688013
Forgot about that, good point. However as I recall the whitespace and punctuation is not counted for originality (or was it punctuation only? That would be surprising though).

try it out
>>
>>83688064
Seems to be the case.
I copied your post content and modified it as follows:
>no modifications
>add one space at the end
>add a . at the end
>add a \n at the end
All were rejected.

As much as I like birds, I'm too lazy to properly take care of one. Cats require zero effort and are more affectionate and funny.
>>
I just moved into an apartment and I want to get a furry companion. Gotta be low maintenance, quiet, and doesn't get lonely much but can't be a cat. What do?
>>
>>83688301
Doesn't have to be furry either
>>
>>83688301
Some sort of rodent. Hamster or mouse?
>>
>>83688316
Actually a mouse would be cool
>>
>>83686009
My aunt has a Grey, they are cool birds but like with any they require a TON of care and are basically going to be a lifelong commitment. They can easily live up to 40 if not more years, not to mention you have an intelligent animal that can mimic speech. They may not be bipolar schizos like cockatoos but they still require a level of stimulation that a lot of people simply cannot give them without it being borderline abuse, not to mention expenses. Imagine, assuming you get one as a chick, having the equivalent of a 4 year old with a beak and wings requiring special care and stimulation to stay healthy well into your 60s. If you do want a bird I would recommend parakeets/budgies, they are much less costly and easier to maintain but still show you how different a bird is from a cat, dog, etc. plus they can grow cool little beards.
>seriously though if you can barely care for yourself dont be a nigger and get an animal that requires far more levels of care than a dog or something
>>
>>83686009
I've been wanting to get into photography for real, upgrading from my kit lens so I can take photos like this but I don't know if it's worth $3000 :(
I hate being a slave
