Anyone who grew older and were able to compartmentalize? Gaming is the only thing I enjoyed but whenever I sit to play anything it just doesnt feel the same anymore

I do wagecuck everyday so I am not a neet but it all seems pointless. I dont have anything left to enjoy or look forward to anymore so it scares me

I mean if you don't have a girlfriend or wife or something why not play video games, seems like a good waste of time.
>>
>>83689350
It seems, to me, OP, that by compartmentalization you mean the insertion of physical objects into your rectum (as if it were a storage compartment). This desire to do so arises from your profound homosexuality

Fuck Strickland's take. It's normie-coded advice that assumes one has a life to ignore in the first place.
>>
>>83689350
for me this happened at 16 and i haven't played a game since
>>
>>83689379
This happened to me at 11, I put down the padjoy as well as all childish things and began the long hard road to becoming CEO of an international Zaibatsu.

People seek meaning in life and the older you get without finding it the exponentially more anxious you become.
>>
I don't enjoy shit anymore
Gaming is just something I have always done and now just do, not because I really want to, but because I don't really have anything else to do
It's just to waste time

35 here, still love video games
guy in twitter post is just gay and joyless

Happened in my early 20s, now late 30s. I mostly blame the fact that when games got popular they stopped making them fun in order to reach a broader audience. Most people don't like fun. Why make an excellent game with a small team over a year or two when you can have >$100,000,000 budget, over 200 people working on it, and take 6 years to release half a game(the buggy half that needs three years of patching, other half is crudely chopped and divided into expansions that cost half the price of the main game)?
Old games still have some charm, I rarely finish but at least it holds my attention longer than an hour. Same thing happened with books. Anything new not self published is going to be a steaming pile of shit. Reprints/digitized versions of old books somehow get shorter with every reprinting. Some cases you see nearly 70% shorter than the first one, meaning they are scrubbing, sanitizing, and sterilizing the stories. Publishers say anyone reading Moby Dick has no interest in ships or whales so they just cut out the jargon. Fortunately you can find specific versions of used books if you query the right way. With old games we have emulators. This is a lot easier to kill than old books. The reason GPU and RAM is so expensive is not entirely because of data centers and ai research. They want to cripple the market. When a basic bitch facebook and m$ word shittop costs $5,000 and struggles to run Calculator that's when our benevolent overlords save us from the market. Cloud computing. For only $4,999 you get a touchscreen monitor with keyboard and mouse available for additional fee. Then you can pick your specs just like a vps, first three months free, then low monthly fee, terms and conditions apply. A supercomputer costs the same as a netbook because it's just a screen and peripherals. AWS is already ahead of the curve and they charge by the minute for some of their cloud computing hardware rentals. Just like the good old days of landline telephones and dialup isps.

The thing that gets me is that it's all a part of the same show(the show being my life). If the bathroom is dirty, if I need to do laundry, go to the bank, etc., it's all shit I think about when I really just want to escape into virtual reality.
>>
why do i have to constantly seek meaning and women? why can't i just be content with video games and survival? what kind of hell is this place where nothing is ever enough and even the best effort will leave you lacking?
>>
you play brain dead games that require no thought.

Try Factorio or Farthest Frontier.
>>
>>83689350
I mean, some are more capable of doing it than others, believe or not, i once emptied a compartment so big that it flushed in 2 tries. The nefarious cum mastermind
>>
>>83689350
I'm 25 and already bored with them but everything else seems equally uninteresting.
>>
I'm still able to enjoy them every once in awhile. But it's always games I've played before.

Any functional adult learns really fucking fast to compartmentalize their private life, social life, and their work life. It's practically a requirement to be considered "functional".

Never thought I'd see a Strickland post here of all places

It's not so much that I don't like playing videogames anymore but more like my standards have gone up so much that it's hard to enjoy them because most of them are below standard. The main audience for videogames are kids and teenagers and they have bad taste and underdeveloped brains so it is what it is.

As an almost-30 NEET I still enjoy both single player and multiplayer gayming. I like a good autism game I can get really obsessed with for a week or two.
>>
I'll think I'm tired of games then find some random game that I'll easily put tons of hours into without thinking.
>>
>>83691752
>obese ugly failure at life with no social skills
>here's what I think
nobody cares what you think faggot lmao
>>
>>83691926
That's the kind of assumptions a person too stupid to play TIS-100 would make.

>Normies get pussy and sex
>But at the cost of never enjoying leisure or hobbies ever again

You know incel bros that kinda makes the whole state of affairs rather tolerable. I cannot imagine no longer enjoying my vidya, or my music, or movies, or reading, or randomly trying new things.

I kinda pity the normalfags because they might have "got theirs" but at the cost of sacrificing everything else about who they used to be.

Ignoring my life is a good thing. It's how I forget that I have to go be an engineer the next day.
I recently revived my love of visual novels and it's been great. Don't let some fag on Twitter tell you having a hobby is a bad thing. It's no worse than reading a book, watching TV, or posting on Twitter.
