I guess this is beyond the pale of a blackpill, but does anybody else notice that morality doesn't really exist anymore?Seems like everybody only does things for things. Even if they're helping people they say they did it for their own purpose. People do things because they want to and not because they should. I wonder if the psychological model of looking at the things we do as results of the way our minds were created has sort of unraveled the concept of morality entirely. Nietzsche sort of invented psychology in his own philosophical work to destroy the myth of morality in people.I guess my question is, has anybody else noticed this trend? It's sort of tripping me out because I always accepted the truism that people only complained about moral decay in society because it was an easy thing to blame problems on. what the fuck now? I'm pretty sure like half the population is sociopathic. Even if you marry somebody who loves you, if they get bored of you in 5 years they're gonna drop your ass to "find themselves". It's hard to not just give up on this society bullshit and have fun for a few days as a criminal then die. Nobody's left to really care. I can't think about my life and pretend like out of 8 billion people my soul means a damn to anybody. Camus's idea that we should just be compassionate to fellow sufferers is naive. When exposed to nihilism, even he admits we all get suicidal drives. I think that if we're really going to be compassionate to people lost to nihilism, the real act of kindness is killing them so they don't have to kill themselves. We ought to just kill one another and at least give a few of us the peace of death.
>>83689388Morality has always just been a conflict resolution strategy. Humans only give a fuck about what brings them pleasure, and a few of us might even be able to care about what brings long term pleasure, but that's already a bar most people can't pass.
>>83689404I don't agree with your definition. I would say that morality is your system of doing things that gives you specifically socially ingrained emotional fulfillment as the pleasure. It might not sound real, but there are people that get happy when they help others and don't need anything else. Society has effectively been able to hypnotize people by imprinting the ethics onto them from a young age and using shame and fear to redirect their primary emotional responses to morality. Once you've been conditioned that well, you're basically indistinguishable from the real thing. Society can't function to this end anymore, so we've just woken up from the dream and can't fall back asleep. There are pathetic people shutting their eyes and pretending like the dream's still on, but they're lying to themselves. You can see it in their faces after a question or 2. They're desperate. They don't deserve to suffer like they are. We ought to euthanize humanity for its own good. We cannot become gods in response to killing him, are we really that narcissistic and retarded? The last thing that still has symbolic value that can save humanity is death.
>>83689452Man, it's not that deep. Stop overthinking. Love that CSM chapter btw, people like to shit a lot on the 2nd part, but I think it has many special moments such as this one.I do agree with your statement about people being a little bit narcissistic nowadays. But if I ever encounter a person like that in real life, I just maintain my distance. It's really not something difficult to perceive over someone.>>83689404I also think that immediate pleasure is what reigns nowadays for the great majority. I'm also part of that statistic probably. It's so difficult to stop consuming on an immediate basis. Even when being more conscious about it.
>>83689624>Man, it's not that deep. Stop overthinking. It's not just at the level of concepts though I'm evil as fuck on the emotional level. If I stopped thinking I would be beating my girlfriend because it's fun.
Morality, like faith, don't mesh well with the jewish world order we're currently living in.A hyper atomized, hyper commodified, hyper commercialized, hyper socialized, hyper mediocre world of niggercattle without strata, community, groups to belong to. No identity of self, only identity of purchase and content.Morals are what kept us prosperous in high trust societies of the past, so we could get to modernity and very soon post-modernity(we're living during the change) where it all collapsed in less than a century. But you see, the golem, indoctrinated as it is, cannot exist without these systems. So they've been substituted:Algorithms are out gods, experts are our deacons, scientism is our faith, consumerism our religion, conformity our dogma, social media our community, and kikes out masters.Who need morals when kids can take hormones and infants can consent? At least we aren't nazis and haven't been rendered extinct by a chinese flu
>>83689785> No identity of self, only identity of purchase and content. If you don't have an identity, there's nothing to mourn. The same way people can choose not to reproduce and you don't mourn their children that were never conceived, there's no point in getting sad over a culture that starved to death before we could inherit it. Better to throw out a vessel when its contents are spoiled.
>>83689699based.>>83689785I'm not so well in history. Only in economic-related history. I would say that the first and foremost most important factor for a collapse or resurgence of a nation is the economy. I guess that the morals of those in power also contributes a lot in the process. Not all of society is hyper-focused in consumerism, but America and the 'west' are the prime example of this. I guess that as things get more expensive and life becomes more difficult people also tend to give more and more importance to material matters. You may look for surveys they did to Americans in the 70's or so. Asking: what do you consider is the most important thing in life for you right now? Money or professional excellence weren't at the top, because they weren't a priority at the moment, whereas now, they are in similar questionnaires. In a world of scarcity, being moral ans prioritizing morality and family values is many times not compensated adequately.Anyways, I feel like Denji, many youngsters just want simple things. The dream of owning your place and nice food once in a while. And sex, why not?
