why do people ragebait? what is so enjoyable about riling other people up? what do people get out of biting it?
my willy gets hard when I make obvious larp posts about being a fat balding 30 year old who gets hot teen girls really I'm a lanky 22 year old
>>83700255when you troll people and the they're trolled and you got them so bad and they're so foolish and you so owned them
>>83700268>>83700279why are these enjoyable tho
>>83700255people do it here simply for attention and (you)s
>>83700255When you ragebait you are basically weeding out the weaker and pathetic people. Then you laugh at their misery.
>>83700341you're in a place where miserable is the default, why do you need to ragebait?
Internet in the 2000s was crazy stupid and getting some reactions was quite an event so it got celebrated. Yes it was rare to achieve, but in the end it was stupid. Now any nothing twitter account can hit millions of "views" easily but people still want to see value in their pointless activity so they believe they're "ragebaiting"
>>83700358>why do you need to ragebait?I don't ragebait at all. I hate that. I'd rather give company. I was just explaining what I observe.
>>83700255I don't do it all the time but the times I do I'm just bored and want attention because I'm lonely I'll be honest
>>83700255Are you looking for a physiological answer? A philosophical one? Trolling people makes me chuckle and is often entertaining to both myself and others. Trolling is also a art. Specifically a performance art. Although this is more applicable to higher level trolling and pranks, which back in the day would bring us "epic lulz". The extent to which trolling bothers some people basically reflects that they're retards who should be made fun of for the way they are. Find me a single human culture without its tricksters. Even our primate relatives rustle each others jimmies.
you may find this hard to believe but trolling used to be something older people did to younger people
>>83700255I like to playfully bait people. Though most the time they get pissed off anyway and it turns to ragebait.
>>83700364As a current example, there are discord servers where homosexuals celebrate being able to have a thread with 100 replies as a successful case of "ragebait" That's the bar now.
Ragebait is such an overused buzzword 95% of the time I'll be engaging in complete earnest and some little faggot will accuse me of ragebaiting instead of honestly engaging whatever point I'm trying to make because it's easier than admitting that just because something seems mildly unusual/provocative that doesn't automatically make it wrong
>>83700675Another example is the sharty bringing back the raid tradition... harassing streamers with 5 viewers or so.At some point ragebaiting went from making things worthy of a news article to getting a number of interactions greater or equal than 1
>>83700396Exactly, people in their teens and 20s are generally stupid and incredibly gullible plus they have a bunch of annoying energy that lends itself to reacting disproportionately to perceived slights so it's funny/satisfying to get such an easy rise out of them, it's one of the oldest guaranteed spectacles known to man, timeless entertainment
>>83700255Makes me feel powerful and able to control people
>>83700255It's mostly due to a lack of power and substance. Dimwits and midwits don't have the know-how to obtain hobbies or talk about topics with any real depth, so they default to childish rhetoric in order to gain attention. So that includes 95% of 4chan and people in general
>>83700255Being ragebaited makes me realize why people kill each other
