Day 28 of watching a movie every day from a list of movies i compiled last year from /r9k/ /tv/ and tiktok.>list can be found herehttps://letterboxd.com/negamoth/list/2026-one-movie-a-day-list/>previous thread>>83777762Today's movie is Ikiru (1952)I liked seeing 1950s japan's building equipment and just the society in general. this was like a commentary on bureaucratic stagnation where nothing ever gets done because of endless paperwork, i wasn't expecting that, but i quite liked it. I don't know what i would do if i only had half a year to live, i certainly wouldn't waste two weeks gambling and drinking, but maybe i would i don't really know. anyways this was really cute, i wish there were more cool movies about different areas of the world back in the 50s there's not really any popular or acclaimed movies from like thailand in the 50s they probably didn't even have movies, or movies from Egypt, they probably still don't have movies in egypt the whole country is a scammer ridden shithole, but i'm getting off topic, what i'm getting at is that i wish there were more foreign movies that were old and good.i'll rate this movie a 3 out of 5
