are you kidding me? goddamn german is annoying sometimes. the way words are set up in a sentence are all over the place, but i guess the first one makes sense. it also sounds pretty cool if we translate it literally:

think of der fuehrer blinded by gas in the hospital hearing the news that the war was over, the thought the past 4 years of horror and herculean effort were for nothing, horrifying howls of rage ripping through the ward until the nurses swarm around him thinking he is in pain and give him a shot, he slips into a meditative self-reflective trance, thinking of wagner, his dream of being an artist, how the army gave him purpose in life and what of this purpose now and how to achieve it, was there really anything else, in these moments something changed, he would from that moment on possess a single minded determination, the war ended, yet a new war began, and it was clear to him now the real enemy was not France and Britain

The big reason seems pretty obvious. As for the rest yeah fair enough, I don't know anything about German culture beyond the partying, some foods, and oktoberfest. Also, why not learn Indian/African languages? Half assing your goal of learning all languages because you (presumably) dislike the peoples is kinda gay. Africa is a million tongues so fair, but India is really just urdu/hindi for the whole region practically speaking. Also I've been thinking about learning Russian myself, they have a wealth of writers and playing STALKER untranslated would he amazing. I like their music and people as well. The only point really against learning it is that french is infinitely more practical and will straight up double my income + it's way easier for me since I already understand some from exposure.

pretty obvious, so then what is it?
>I don't know anything about German culture beyond the partying, some foods, and oktoberfest.
dont mention oktoberfest around most germans, oktoberfest is a bavarian thing and most germans hate bavaria for ruining germanys global image
>Also, why not learn Indian/African languages? Half assing your goal of learning all languages because you (presumably) dislike the peoples is kinda gay.
indian and african languages have no practical use to me in my pursuit of knowledge, theres no books or media i care about from either regions. they can also be pretty far removed from other languages, so id have to go out of my way to learn them, while most languages can be grouped together for easy learning. its not a matter of (just) disliking them or anything
>Also I've been thinking about learning Russian myself, they have a wealth of writers and playing STALKER untranslated would he amazing
russian is a pretty easy language to learn, highly recommend. i kinda stopped focusing on it so i could pursue german, but i plan on returning to it as soon as im done. so many good books, so many good games, so much good music. its probably one of the most useful languages to learn. also stalkers npc dialogue is untranslated and itd be cool to listen in on that. also just learn french and russian at the same time :]

When I get into the groove of learning one I'll try and juggle, starting both at once would drag out the time it takes to learn either.

ah yes the obese guys in lederhosen and women with their boobs out (you can see this anywhere in germany) is super swag. the rest of germany is vastly superior. the architecture is gorgeous
>The bollywood kino....
they have some of the craziest sequences tbf. crazy as in "so bad its good", but its not enough to make me watch them.
>Any tips on how to get started? How proficient did you get? Etc etc, be thorough with your answer.
i was at late A1 level according to duolingo so i didnt get very far by technicality. but once you familiarise yourself with the russian alphabet, learning becomes significantly easier. it has a lot of loanwords or words similar to english so you can sometimes easily decipher sentences using those words as clues.
so i recommend starting by learning the alphabet, learning simple phrases, using duolingo is a decent starting point as well.

ahh ok, so 270lbs/112kgs. thats a pretty big goal to be acceptably strong. bench isn't really a good measure of strength tho, imo. overhead press is a better measure. do you do anything like that or is it just benching that youre focused on?

thoever, youre not lagging. youre too harsh on yourself, its gay. how long have you been going to the gym for, how consistently? do you know how long it takes to get that much in a bench, do you know how many people manage to fuck it up and basically spin their wheels in terms of progression? bench is harder than people give it credit for.
i hope you can one day move out and buy yourself lots of yaoi. you have such a strong sense of shame. i cant let myself be restrained by such a thing, yaoi doujinshi, yuri posters, figures of big tiddy black nurses in latex on all fours, life would suck without these things

>is leaving things unfinished a bad habit of yours?
adhdcel
>are you reading it cause of that?
Pretty much, I'm enjoying it so far and the world is interesting. Something good it does similar to STALKER is how grounded the response is to alien artifacts popping up; it starts off as some daring thing to hunt them down before eventually being corporatized and bogged down by bureaucracy. There are other things the book does well especially in regards to the protagonist, but you should read it yourself. Biggest difference from STALKER is it doesn't take place anywhere Slavic. I recommend it.
>how long have you been going to the gym for
Year and some change.
>how consistently
2 weeks straight tops before losing focus.
>bench is harder than people give it credit for.
I don't care about bench that much in particular it's just a quick benchmark.
>strong sense of shame. i cant let myself be restrained by such a thing
It's a culture divide, you wouldn't get it. Shame keeps people to a standard, and is generally warranted. With owning doujinshi for example, aside from looking like a loser theres the added negative of potentially exposing my family to something so lurid. There's internal shame as well (or guilt ig) I feel nonstop not completing anything I set out to do. This is also necessary.

ah, so its realistic. thats nice.
ill definitely read it at some point, probably after i one day finish the stalker games so i can really feel the connection. never recovered from going to a side mission, realising i have no ammo for it, and because i cant accept failure i just quit.
>it doesn't take place anywhere Slavic
it doesnt? my interest dwindled.
(joking)
>2 weeks straight tops before losing focus
so uh, are you on meds for that adhd?
>It's a culture divide, you wouldn't get it
i wouldnt. not because of a culture divide, but because i cant understand letting shame control you.
tho i do understand when it comes to your family why youd feel that.
>There's internal shame as well (or guilt ig) I feel nonstop not completing anything I set out to do. This is also necessary.
youre just putting unnecessary negativity on yourself considering, despite that, you still don't really complete much. sounds like that at least. you need to consider a new approach to how you, well, live life and move towards accomplishing your goals.
>>
>>83851999

>>83851999
>probably after i one day finish the stalker games so i can really feel the connection
I never finished STALKER and enjoyed the book just fine, it's based on the book so you'd feel the connection better reading and then playing if anything.
>so uh, are you on meds for that adhd?
They make me a freak rapemongrel and supercharge my emotions so I stopped taking them. I do get some use out of them before that hits, but I'm still better off without them. I'd rather struggle to manage myself without meds anyway, don't want to rely on them long term. Do you have adhd?
>cant understand letting shame control you
This is really an isolated thing, outside my home I don't care for it much.
>unnecessary negativity
It's pretty necessary I'd just sit on my ass for eternity otherwise.
>despite that, you still don't really complete much
But this is also pretty true, I'll give it some thought.
>>
>>83852104
hmm, ok, well in that case ill fit it in somewhere among the cart of books i plan to buy to read.
>They make me a freak rapemongrel
seriously? no joke?
also did you try multiple different meds, dosages, etc. or just one?
>I'd rather struggle to manage myself without meds anyway, don't want to rely on them long term.
thats a fantastic mindset to have right there, not enough people have or understand that.
>Do you have adhd?
nope, fortunately
>But this is also pretty true, I'll give it some thought.
you should. there are better and more efficient ways to wire your brain into doing the things you want to do that dont include giving yourself mental issues.
my way is just telling myself i have no excuse not to, and if i want something bad enough ill do what it takes to get it (that logic doesnt apply to certain things, thoever, it mainly applies to wanting snacks so ill walk the 5kms to go get some)
anyways, i gotta sleep. goodnight anon, see you next time :]
