I was watching a small female streamer tell a story from high school that went like this:>Boy in her friend group keeps teasing her>It's obvious to everyone to everyone but her that he's really into her>She thinks she's being bullied and prays every night for him to drop dead>Mutual friend tells her that she thinks he's going to ask her to prom>She sees it as making fun of her and plots a sort of revenge>Next day, he asks her out as expected >She yells in his face in front of everyone that she'd never go out with him in a million years and hurls insults at him>He bursts into tears>Everyone calls her a bitch>Her friends stop talking to herThis story made me sad and I can't stop thinking about it. What could he possibly have done that would make her misinterpret the situation so badly? It didn't sound like they were ever able to patch things up, he just received the most brutal rejection of his life and she lost her friends.

I feel sorry for her. She apparently didn't recognize the playful teasing as him being interested in her. Then everyone else is shit for thinking she knew.
