How many anons here have tinnitus? What does it sound like? How did you get it?
I shot a .30-30 outside once without hearing protection a month ago, and my left ear was was muffled for like a week. It came back, but now I have this fucking TV static tinnitus. I'm pretty sure my hearing is fucked now, but the ringing is more annoying. I started taking steroids like 4 days after the noise exposure. It probably doesn't help that I put ear protection in and continued to shoot after.

>fucking TV static tinnitus
People from the future are trying to send you a message through sound-space waves that travel through time.

Do NOT make him schizophrenic

The static won't make me schizophrenic, but sometimes the ringing sounds like crickets and I feel schizophrenic. As if my room was covered in them.

yeah i have tinnitus but i only notice it when i try to sleep
it's mostly in my right ear and i'm almost certain the cause was when some cunt smashed a hammer against a hollow metal tube next to my ear

it's incurable and will stay with you unless you lose hearing but even probably then it will persist
there is very little ongoing research into it too because normals are so braindead they can easily ignore it and all the money is busy curing obesity since "just eat less" is apparently a medication out of reach for most people

I'm still adjusting to mine and hoping it goes away or subsides. It's always there just due to how high frequency it is. I can hear it with open back headphones. A fan helps somewhat to sleep. I keep thinking there's something else I can do, but the ENT doctor told me the solution is just time now. I hope yours doesn't get worse.

I have very sensitive hearing and can hear electricity

Constant high pitched ringing. And I'm guessing I got it because I had bad ear infections as a kid and had to get ear tubes put in. So I've pretty much never known silence. I always have to have some kind of background noise going on.

wearing headphones all day for sure makes mine worse that evening and i have volume always really low, as i always have had
if i spend all day out or busy doing irl stuff there is a market difference, or maybe i am just less tuned in
i always feel like one ear is partially blocked it really sucks

you can try and flush your ears out a little since earwax worsens tinnitus
get some sterile soapmaking oil and drip it in your ear (don't use cooking oil)

tinnitus is a fucking curse and it's insane to me that it isn't spoken about more but normals are just oblivious to their senses

i can also hear electricity
i can tell when my phone has charged, for example, because the whine changes

I can hear people wake up O_O

Are you trans? You could come shooting with me

i fucked up and ran a rototiller continuously for hours without hearing protection and discovered that i was partially deaf for some time after. i think my tinnitus got worse after this but it may have always been present. i was part of a marching band before that and was chronically exposed to explosive levels of noise on a daily basis. one time a cymbal crashed right next to my head and it was like a grenade going off.

I produce a ton of sticky earwax for some reason so for as long as I can remember I'd have long periods of ringing from the buildup. I get my ears cleaned every few months now and that relieves it but my ears feel sensitive and air-y, then the ringing comes back after a couple weeks. My first childhood memory of it was being left in a car and hearing that ringing get louder and louder. But I think having it young rewired my brain to associate it with quiet.

>What does it sound like
Like tinnitus, it sounds the same for everyone.
