The truth is that teaching really just isn't a very skilled profession. Complete midwits can be just as good teachers as geniuses. It doesn't matter because they're all teaching the same thing, and there's no competition or incentive to be anything more than mediocre because it's a government job and there are no stakes. They're the ones letting them stay up until 2am every night playing Minecraft, but ultimately teachers will just push the kid along to the next grade so they're someone else's problem. But in the whole process of this there is no actual resolution to anything. The parent will keep encouraging the kid's shit behavior because the school system and the teachers let the parents do it and at best there's a slap on the wrist for the parent and at worst radio silence from school admins.I don't see why we can't just kick out all the most problematic kids and let the parents deal with them by themselves, but the current culture of political correctness would never allow this. With McDonalds you might get phone calls from your boss asking to come in, and you might work a lot of hours, but at least you get the dignity of having your work and personal life being separated. You can be yourself and a genuine human being outside of work hours. Teachers don't even get that, because if Karen sees you smoking or drinking or going to a club outside of school hours you're gonna get screamed at and dismissed because we can't have real people teaching children.
