I don't know how people can be academically exceptional, sure IQ matters but I don't know how people can just spend hours studying everyday and not get bored to shit on it, specifically in harder majors like engineering, law or science. Why exactly are they putting in so much effort and attention to it? To someday be a high-paid wageslave and make their kids future wageslaves? Why do normies work so hard?
>>
>>83875107
They sort of get trained into that routine from early childhood.
>>
>thinking you need to spend hours studying every day to succeed academically
>>
>>83875112
>This stupid larp
>>
>>83875107
It's undiagnosed ADHD. You're going to need some meth to be able to study like a normal person can.
>>
Why not use those instincts to play MAHJONG?
>>
>>83875117
>how is this a larp, boy?
>>
>>83875112
Either that or pay a lot of attention attending classes for hours.
One thing for sure is that you have to be consistent at things you aren't that interested in
>>
>>83875135
Thst's not supposed to be in greentext, retard.

You're stupid. Everyone in rigorous academics studies their asses off. Fools larp as not studying much, then flunk out after 2 semesters.
You are appealing to a very discredited and flimsy stereotype. Like a retard.
>>
>>83875141
or you could simply be adequately intelligent with decent recall and be interested in most anything if it's presented well enough, alternatively forcing yourself to learn/remember it by teaching yourself in a way that makes it interesting.

no subject is actually boring. everything is fascinating under the surface.
>>
>>83875145
>is there a rule that states i have to type responses exclusively in burgundytext? i don't recall agreeing to that. sorry typing using a quotation makes you mad for some reason.

you sound like you have personal experience with this. i wonder how many people on your very important dean's list and in the honors programs actually studied as much as you think. work smarter, not harder.
>>
>>83875157
You're fucktarded and you've never achieved anything.
>>
>>83875145
>read textbook once
>review lecture notes once
>ass still in correct location
You're the type of dumbass who rewatches movies too I bet. Just learn it the first time. If you failed to understand the first time then repetition will do you no good.
>>
>>83875265
Are you just trying to max out the retardometer here?
>>
>>83875148
>by teaching yourself in a way that makes it interesting.
mega coping strategy it feels like talking yourself out of a psychotic episode
Every subject, topic branches out to things you aren't interested in that you need to have a perfect grasp on. It's like watching a movie that loses the plot and you have to go along with it. Most people at the top of their classes are very studious and are interested in the studying itself
>>
>>83875172
>you sound really, really emotionally invested in this topic. perhaps a bit called out? does it make you feel worthless to realize other people can coast while you can't?
>>
>>83875292
you seem to lack basic self-awareness to realize how funny each one of your posts is and how stupid you come across.
>>
>>83875305
But you've never coasted to anything real.
>>
>>83875309
I'm not well equipped for the pseud olympics you're having in here, you win
>>
>>83875124
I think this was my issue. I have the diagnosis now and have been prescribed Adderall. Now, I have no issues studying and actually enjoy it. I should have had this when I was younger in high school. That way, I would have paid attention more. I got by with doing nothing in high school, but I failed out of college since you cannot get by it easily as you can in high school.

Now, after my diagnosis at 23, I'm back in and have gotten almost nothing but A's since I can actually sit down and study, listen to the lectures without my mind wandering, and take proper notes. The B's I have gotten were from math classes since I still have a hard time understanding it.
>>
>>83875327
>>83875345
you guys doing okay? we don't know each other, you don't have to brag you have a big boy job while i have a big boy brain.
>>
>>83875432
I'm in my 30's now but never got diagnosed despite being almost certain that this too is my problem because getting the diagnosis itself is too expensive. I still wonder what it would feel like to by able to think like a normal person can.

I'm almost tempted to go the nearby college town to try to buy some off of some students there just to try it once but I don't know how I should go about doing that without getting into some kind of trouble.
>>
>>83875489
Oh cool, let's see all the amazing shit you've created and achieved with that big boy brain
>>
>>83875505
It took me years to get the diagnosis. I started seeing a psychiatrist and therapist at 19 when I was having a really hard time in college. They diagnosed with me bipolar disorder, ptsd and generalized anxiety disorder. I got fired from multiple jobs after I failed out of college. None of the medications worked. It wasn't until my old therapist retired and I got a new one that noticed something after I had a screaming fit about him recommending me a book. So, they sent me for evaluation, which revealed it. After that, prescribed the Adderall, and my mind for the first time in my life is so calm. I'm actually able to slow down. My mood is 100's of times better. It makes me resent how much I went through because of the misdiagnosis.
>>
>>83875526
i can use it to know someone who has permanently destroyed their dopamine receptors to only trigger when outraged or venting aggressiveness online will never be satisfied with any response they receive that doesn't allow them to rage indefinitely, and that therefore declining is the only winning move. ;)
>>
>>83875717
Cool, anything other than snide shitposting maybe?
>>
>>83875739
yeah, that response is pretty internally consistent with your thread persona.

Do you think if you cry wolf enough times people will believe you? It doesn't deflect from the fact each one of your posts is whining that reading words you already know and remembering them is too difficult for you to manage.
>>
>>83875107
For the people that are academically exceptional studying is like breathing water. I just got accepted into a PhD program at one of the top universities in the world and I excel at my subject way beyond my peers naturally. Hard work beats talent but talent that works hard is unbeatable
>>
>>83875749
I was asking about your big boi brain though. Arguing on here is for us plebs, whereas you've apparently "coasted" through academics. So, that must've freed up hella time and creativity, you must've gotten a lot done in life!
>>
>>83875763
You made the stereotypical and dumb claim that you succeeded academically without studying. I asked you to back it up with anything at all, and you came up empty. Which means you are retarded. You didn't breeze through anything or achieve anything by any real standard. You're just a retard who did well in some easy school.
>>
>>83875772
This nigga is the reality of the matter

>>83875763

Ok how do we know you're not full of shit and what major are you doing? Assuming you're telling the truth you mean you can just sit down for hours and not get bored of the material you study?
>>
>>83875107
Because they're actually interested in learning about that subject. Having a lot of disposable income also makes life vastly more enjoyable.
>>
>>83875910
>Ok how do we know you're not full of shit
you don't, I guess you'll just have to trust me :P
>Assuming you're telling the truth you mean you can just sit down for hours and not get bored of the material you study?
I study archaeology, which is a mix of hard science/analytical chemistry, social science and theory. It's not easy because archaeologists have to learn a lot more than any other field because its so interdisciplinary. It's fun and cool so no I don't get bored, especially when working on my own research.

A PhD is basically studying as a full time job. You spend months combing the literature for scraps of clues you eventually piece together to develop a new idea.
>>
>>83875107
I can answer for the poor folks but I don't know about the actual rich folks
Necessity

It's drilled into their heads that high-paying jobs require exceptional skills/knowledge
That's why you get the memes of asians being forced to be a doctor or an engineer or a lawyer, it's not necessarily what they want, it's what their family needs
A way out of poverty
>>
>>83875873
Wow, what a meltdown. Holy fucking SEETHING.

Nothing I've said contradicts this, if anything it sustains my argument better than yours
