Today's movie was wristcutters (2006)

this one was pretty ambitious, i'm guessing the budget for this movie was pretty low, the acting wasn't the best but it still worked out. it'd be cool if when you committed suicide there was a special place strictly for suicides, but what i didn't get was how the animals got there, it would have been better if they didn't need to eat, but i guess they had to eat so that the main character could work at a pizza place. anyways i did enjoy this one, i got bored here and there, but it wasn't so bad, i like the cast, there were a few surprises where some pretty famous actors showed up, i guess this was early in their career. i would have preferred if in the end he stayed in that purgatory for suicide victims instead of being resurrected and basically making the whole movie be a dream, but i guess they hint at it all not being a dream when the love interest recognizes him at the hospital. but like i was saying if he had stayed dead and alone that would have made for a better movie, and what the hell happened to his ex girlfriend who killed herself because of him? she just stays in purgatory for suicides for ever even though she killed herself for him, but now he has a new hotter gf. basically i didn't like the ending of this movie.

i'm rating this one 2.5 out of 5

i'll be binging movies tonight to try and eat away at my backlog.

i've been meaning to watch wristcutters for like two decades. hm.
what movie has been your favorite thus far and what are you intending to watch tonight?
>>

my favorite so far is zardoz, it was super imaginative and creative, they did the most with what little they had and the story was told really well. it's the most creative movie i've watched so far, there have been other creative ones, like the strawberry mansion, but that one tries way too hard whereas zardoz seems effortless.

tonight i'm gonna be watching
The Apartment
Always In My Head (which is some kind of indie movie on youtube)
In The Mood For Love
and if i'm not tired of movies by then i'll watch nacho libre, gotta knock out as many as i can so i get all caught up with the list and only need to watch one a day again.
i got lazy.

in the mood for love is extremely slow-paced, it's best to watch as you wind down for bed. you'll likely fall asleep near the end, but for the yearning.

i guess i'll watch that one last.
i wanted to end on nacho since i've already seen it.

just finished movie 39 The Apartment

holy shit that was a great movie, right at the start i thought they were going to go with like a comedy where the apartment was haunted or something crazy, but it turns out he was just renting out his apartment for people to cheat on their wives. that was unexpected and a pretty cool premise. i love these old actors too, they all looked cool and distinguished, but that might just be the wardrobe. i love old movies like this, makes you realize that things haven't changed too much, people said "what's up" back then too, there were a few things language wise that i thought were modern but were being used even back then. love these little glimpse at the past movies.

i'm rating this one a 4 out of 5

finisdhed movie 41 Always In My Head

this turned out to just be a glorified youtube video, it was literally 3 minutes long, here i was thinking it was gonna be some indie film so i added it just to be nice, but the persona who recommended this must have been the person who made the movie and they must have been a TikTok recommendation.

i gave it a 2.5 out of 5 just because i didn't want to be mean since literally no one else but me has seen this video so they would know i gave them a bad rating if i were to give them the realistic rating of .5 out of 5

just finished movie 44 Nacho Libre

i love this movie, it's so stupid. i love the horrible spanish accent jack black is doing it makes every line hilarious. i don't know why this movie makes me laugh so much, it's just so dumb but in a charming way, it's a cute movie and i love cute stuff. Also the setting of this movie is beautiful, the landscape is really pretty, those vibrant green cactus and the rocky terrain, the hills, it's all so beautiful. i think i was smiling all throughout the movie.

i'd rate this movie an 8 it's not perfect, but it's really good... at least to me it is, i know a lot of people hate it because they hate jack black.
