I have been masturbating a lot lately too, to the point of actually damaging my dick, like sore as fuck and it hurts to even touch it. But in my case it feels like something periodical, like at some point it gets so intense that something inside my head just short circuits and I just stop being so obsesive. Don't focus on changing the masturbation as much as finding other things to do that aren't masturbation. The fapping is just filling a void, stopping fapping will not fill that void.

And if nothing else truly interests you, then masturbating all the time isn't really a problem, because you're not "wasting time" that you wouldn't be spending on more meaningful/productive (whatever that means to you) pursuits anyway.

Better to masturbate than be addicted to fent, or something; there's worse ways to kill time if you're listless and without direction.

I tried moderating how much I fapped for years but it never worked. The only cure to my gooning problem was to just stop jerking off cold turkey. I had my last nut on july 4th 2025 (went out with a bang lmao) and haven't masturbated since. The first week is a bit tough but after that it's shocking how I don't think about it or have any urge to fap at all. My libido's crazy high still and I wanna have sex but I have no desire to masturbate. You quickly start feeling better physically and mentally when your body is allowed to rest and not need to regenerate semen constantly, and you have less dopamine crashes. I've given up a lot of things cold turkey though, like cigarettes, caffeine, sugar, etc. I may just have that sort of personality or neurology. Sometimes you have to shock the system to make a real permanent change.

Hmm well stopping something cold turkey is the main way I think. Suddenly taking away a substance or stimulus that your system has relied on for years will cause a massive shock that can reorient your mind and neural circuitry. Of course your overall systemic health determines how safe this is. When I first cut carbs and underwent my first 24 hour fast I felt like I was dying because my body had never switched to a fat metabolism before or went without food for more than eight hours. But that massively improved my health and allowed me to endure other shocks with much greater ease.

From greatest effect to least, the things I've done to rewire my brain include:
>eliminating sugar and switching to a low carb meat-based diet (massively improved my physical and mental health in every way)
>numerous extended fasts up to two weeks with only water, and up to three days with no food or water (incredible for general health and healing, and resetting hunger signaling)
>stopped masturbating (helped tremendously with anxiety, stress, and confidence)
>quit caffeine (fixed my overactive and worn out endocrine system, allowed me to sleep normally, and have way more lasting energy than I had with caffeine)
>quit cigarettes (not that bad, wasn't much of a shock)

You could also try cold showers I suppose. Those are good for shocking the system and supercharging your health/mood for the day, but it's pretty temporary.

Oh, also just general stillness/meditation/lack of doing anything will refresh your brain and mood really well too. Lots of benefits to that. All of these things I suggested though provide more benefits the longer you do them though. Just doing it first time solely for the shock isn't nearly as helpful as continuing to practice them
