Just a few of the GBA games. I played Stairway to the Destined Duel so many times I overflowed the win counters multiple times per duelist. It was fun making up new strats in the old game. Now, I hear it's just plain shit with one turn taking 10 minutes being the norm.

it was was too dorky for me growing up. one my friends convinced me to try the Steam version a few years ago and I hit alt+f4 after about an hour because my opponent was taking 20 minute turns every round while i either had no cards to play or he destroyed my ability to play anything

this is the first and probably only edison deck im building, i have a bunch of goat format ones with the old card styles that i just enjoy looking at sometimes. i stopped playing when xyzs came out and nowadays its just a different game

I played it a long time ago. Before all of the syncro stuff and whatever else may be going on now. It was fun. My friend taught me how to play and gave himself a handicap. Basically he would double check if I'm sure before every move and we'd talk about how things I forget the word for it but chain together and the eventual outcomes of certain interactions.

Are HERO decks still playable? I could be bothered to try masterduel of it's easy to get a HERO deck that isn't trash.

I remember, as a kid, I'd go to the flea market were there was a Yugioh card vendor and buy from him. I was always excited to visit when I did, but the guys who were there dueling were real sweats, each time I'd duel them and I'd lose in like two moves.

I was friends with almost all of them for years after HS but an e girl infiltrated the group. I didn't really like her at the start. The friend I hung out with the most apparently liked her. He forced me to talk with her because for some reason she was really interested in me and made him do it. When I talked with her I kinda liked her so I gave her a chance.

If you message them on facebook or text them they have a choice to respond or not after having read your message, if you call them they can decide whether to pick up or not, but they don't know what you want and are kind of obligated to keep talking at least for a little while after picking up the phone. I played as a kid. Some years later a guy found out that I had played and asked to play against my old deck. We did, and he was losing hard until he played some new kind of card (with an unreadable design) that basically said it's immune to everything. I realized there was no card in my deck that could affect it (and probably no viable option in my entire old collection, either) so I just said gg and packed up. Not before he started complaining that something I'd played was on tournament banlists or whatever. Retard game. I'd say mtg is better, but that shat the bed hard around a decade ago, too. As a kid I liked the show, though I never understood how the fuck the rules were supposed to work since as you might be well aware, the show makes shit up all the time.
Eventually I read the rulebooks and all of that, played with some kids by just using some starter deck, and was decent enough at it.
Had a uncle who was into vidya, and he just happened to show me Capsule Monster Colisseum and eventually Tag Force series(I think he never actually watched the show nor played the card game though, so he just learned it from game mechanics alone), I mostly went for the latter and have replayed the first one recently. Very fun, would recommend.

Right now? Eh, can't vibe too well with new playstyles despite trying to.
But I had some fun back when Trickstars could -200 -200 -200 people indiscriminately. Anime would like me to believe Aoi could really lose with this deck at peak viability...

I have 300 hours in master duel. It's fun but I'm not very good, I have bad memory and too much of the game is getting destroyed or destroying someone. Close games are rare, someone is basically dead after the second turn in my experience.
It's hard for me to feel good winning in this game. The few times I've felt excited for a win I was facing a metaslave and the heart of the cards pulled me through. I reached plat once with traptrix and that was nice. I like traptrix alot I have the physical cards as well but I've never played in person, only online.

I see this occasionally and it just makes me think people who continously complain about modern yugioh are just nostalgiafags thinking about their schoolyard yugioh games and that was never yugioh. It just sounds like people who say things like that want some silly full custom format, which they could play if they had friends. A lot of people share these complaints, I can't imagine it's hard to find one person to reenact your 2.5 atk beatstick being unbreakable with.
Konami knows what to do, they make cards that have restrictions, sometimes really bad restrictions that ruin the card (and fail to help the archetype the card was printed for), but they still release cards that have zero restrictions because they are retarded and greedy.

look there are lots of yugioh sux vids even from top players and i get it
there's also at the core a really awesome game there though deep down with all of the interaction, chain links, variable tactics/strategy and how the sky's the limit in terms of deck potential 'there's a yugioh card for everything'
but the thing is at the end of the day you really thrive on making your own formats and rules with your own groups and having fun together and that's still VERY possible if you open your mind up even some recent decks aren't that bad but yeah powercreep is def an issue

I actually think modern Yugioh has occasionally some really fun and good formats. It's just that many modern meta decks have no real identity. They are just bog standard midrange decks who have a bunch of starters to end on a board with a bunch of generic interruptions (can't even call them boss monsters anymore since traditional tower-like boss monsters got powercrept into irrelevancy) with maybe one single archetype specific interruption. Like even an annoying stun deck is preferable because at least it's somewhat unique compared to midrange slop.

I only played yugioh 1. Yugioh 2 is fucking garbage. Sorry I don't want to watch my opponent play solitaire and set up an unbreakable board on turn 1 unless i am also playing the meta or drew one of my 1 off hand traps. IT became so bad I switched to magic, I am trying to get used to the new game but I prefer when it wasn't a 2 turn game.
Sure there was meta back then aswell but games lasted longer than 2 turns.
I played shaddoll when the starter deck came out but I already know it's power crept to be useless. and good graveyard card that supports it will automatically be more useful in 100 other decks since the graveyard is your second hand now.
