American advertising was perfected over generations but is super corny. These little sociopaths try to jew you into a product and they fuck it up horrendously always. They are cringe.
>>
i read that advertising doesnt work but our entire economy depends on it working so we just pretend that it does. kind of like the stock market.
>>
American advertising was peak in the 90s. They could sell you a steaming log of shit on a plate and you'd devour it with a smile. There will never be a return to such glory.

very corny ads in the 90s, it's almost like what anon says because we're already sold we like that there is an ad for thing anyway.
>>
as for a 90s advert I'd say they have good imagery perhaps but they fuck it up with some dumb joke. I guess that's the art of it though, risky though with all the money at stake.
>>
Japanese adverts are kino though

a big part of advertising is brand recognition. the idea is that humans like thing we recognize (in nature eating unknown plants could result in death) and so when you are standing in the store you will naturally gravitate towards the brands you recognize over the others.

it doesn't matter if the ad doesn't make you go "holy shit I need this now!" as long as it's memorable enough for you to instinctively consider it as known

pseudo science around evolution is a beautiful thing the type of quick assured thing a neo lib advert would appeal to
