Grew up Muslim
was a weird kid so I "experimented"
was around during the "Remove Kebab" thing so I looked into Catholicism/Orthodoxy and every other Christian denomination
then shit happened and years passed and I looked into Eastern traditions and paganism

Now I'm just confused
Man was not meant to know all of this...

Im think im converting to christianity. Its hard to take that leap of faith when there's a lot of arguments against, but i cant argue with the results me trying it has had in my life. Whether its a placebo or not im trying to figure out still

I'm not religious. I don't believe in a higher being or anything that has no proof to exist. Also I refuse to let anything have power over me. That's cucked. A lot of atheists failed to free their mind from being controlled and ruled over because instead of subjugating themselves to a sky man and other deities, they subjugate themselves to politics, corporations and modern sensibilities and ethics.

I consider myself a follower of Christ. My journey towards him was through my research into different religious movements and modern "science" before concluding that they are derived from Christianity but in a subverted version. Ask yourself this question: if religion and beliefs were just fables, why have the elite and historical figures been involved in the occult for centuries up to the present day? People are willing to accept fabricated scientific theories as religious dogma and reject the original message of Christ. All these methodologies and pseudo-sciences are funded to create a metanarrative that brings people closer to worshipping the god of their cult and distracts us from material reality

We all believe, and since we do, we may as well create a greatest Thing, ideal and system to believe in
That said, I'm agnostic, because I can't make myself believe in something that seems false, even if what I currently believe also is false and even if this other thing seems better than what I currently believe

None really at the moment. I feel the most affinity towards Islam, but that's more for how it's been good for my people (historically) and less liking the actual religion.
>>84011381
Damn I went through the same motions, I'm around the "eastern religions and paganism phase" right now. What got you disillusioned with Islam to start?
>Man was not meant to know all of this...
true

It seems we followed a similar way of life, anon. I experimented too, finding truths within many religions but eventually I gravitated back to Islam. Only this time I disregard the hadith completely and only accredit truth with the Quran which is protected by the divinity of our Lord. May Allah bless you and guide you to the right way
>>

Isn't Quranism a meme tho since fundamentals like salat are revealed thru hadith

Learn about the history of Muhammad and Islam, and you will understand that he was an opportunist, and that it was a power struggle to take control of Mecca. Even the revelation made to him in the cave bears a striking resemblance to the description of Lucifer, the light-bearing angel.

"Muhammad feared he was possessed by a jinn (spirit) or was becoming a soothsayer (kahin). He rushed home to his wife, Khadija, trembling and saying, 'Cover me! Cover me!' He told her what happened and confessed his fear that he was losing his mind."

Found out about Shi'ism, was confused as to why there was another "version" of Islam, looked into and was interested, felt more "true" with how they venerated the Ahlul Bayt
community found out and pressured my parents which in turn pressured me to repent

Things spiralled from there and started questioning everything, like I'd ask myself "how can there be two truths?" and "if there's only absolute truth, then how can we be absolutely sure ours is the right one?"

>>84011835
>Quranist
even bigger meme
I'd get it if you were a Qadiani or maybe even a Nizari/Bohra but Quranist? lmao
>>
>>84011325
i don't believe in anything because i wasn't raised religious and the whole concept doesn't make sense with my worldview
>>
>>84011945
Interesting, the existence of Shias never bothered me much since I knew of them even as a yute
For me realizing the ummah is a joke (racist ass arabs and pakis, muslim countries funding proxy wars with each other etc) and the demonization of art (music primarily) are what took me out of it. Smaller silly shit as well like my dad claiming movie theaters were haram. I never considered any other relgion until the last year or so tbdesu
>Quranism
Always diasporacels coping with this

too many fucking shitskins in here, wtf

I grew up in a highly religious family, both grandads being imams at their local mosques

Wss ingrained in me since I was a wee lad the matters of spirituality and the here-after so those kinds of earthly concerns never bothered me

I'm a definite atheist reprobate but I also understand religions mystically and emotionally. I was raised in a Christian society so I naturally have a moral liking toward the Jesus story, for example. If you sincerely believe it you're a bit of a sap sure but I'm a sap about other things too so I can empathize.
I really don't like people who become religious for prideful, political or aesthetic religions though
>>
>>84011398
Can I ask what specifically in your life drives you to be a follower of Christ? I know Christians actively look for ways we're influenced in our lives but I'd like to know about experiences from someone who doesn't consider themselves Christian yet. Any particular events / feelings or something?
>>
>>84011325
I'd best describe my beliefs as a mixture of Godel's ontological argument and Huemer's eternal recurrence. So while I believe in a creator God, I don't believe in a personal God, nor do I believe in heaven, but I do believe that we exist infinitely since the universe itself is infinite.
