theres a small airport like 4 miles from my house and ive lived here for a decade, but recently ive been getting pissed off and agitated by the amount of activity from there. its a cargo/freight airport i think.every 10 minutes i hear a plane taking off. in fact in the past hour (yes i actually counted) ive heard 13 planes total. and they dont just take off and fade out, it almost sounds like theyre circling around and being annoying as possible. medium sized commercial jets, a few private jets, and then propeller-driven training aircraft. i am so utterly fucking sick of it that ive started wearing earplugs when i use my pc. it subsides a bit in the evening but it never stops. i cant focus on anything when one flies over
yeah it is, to the point I'm sure there's a mechanism you can use to complain to the relevant authorities
>>84012093>4 miles away from small airport Brother I live 2 and a half miles miles from the biggest airport in my state and I hardly ever hear planes. The fuck kind of schizo meltdown you having?
>>84012153It's not that schizo if he's living directly under a flight path
Should have built your house with double studs, rockwool insulation, acoustic vinyl, high mass gypsum, and triple glazed windows with varied distance between and thicknesses of glazing. Instead your house is 2x4 with fiberglass and 1/2" drywall. Doesn't even matter if you buy new windows now because you're basically living inside of a drum/amp.
>>84012093I fucking hate living near an airport. It's bad enough to hear land vehicles, I also have to listen to niggas flying through the sky? I think I'm next to a training ground or something because at night helicopters will fly in fucking circles with seemingly no goal and it drives me nuts.
>>84012235HOLY SHIT A NIGGA JUST FLEW OVER MY HOUSE!!
>>84012093You can either live with it or move. There's no point in focusing on how much it bothers you. Start the process of moving to somewhere that is better for your mental health now. Do everything you can to bring yourself day by day toward that escape. In the meantime I'd suggest getting quality noise-cancelling headphones with sound-isolating earpads, and to fill your room with noise: An air purifier will provide a bit of sound masking while making improving your place's air quality, while brown noise on the headphones during the most irritating times of noise and while you sleep can help yo calm your nervous system immensely. I have misophonia as well, I live a few blocks from an airport and about 30 feet from a busy main road. My shithead downstairs neighbors are constantly slamming shit and blasting bass that shakes my whole bedroom. I know how maddening it can be, but I'm doing my best to find solutions instead of letting it consume me. As soon as my lease is up this summer I'm moving to an apartment in a quieter area with hopefully less/quieter neighbors. I'm currently saving so that I can move out of the city away from inconsiderate urbanoid subhumans and live in a small town. In a few more years of saving I'm going to buy land in countryside and never be bothered again. You need to make plans to improve your situation too.
