I'm normally not a miserable person at all but october through january is just a constant onslaught of people shoving their happiness in my face no matter where I go or what I do, to the point that I'm constantly reminded of what I lack in life. How alone I am. I make a point of not comparing my circumstances to those of others but it's hard for those thoughts not to creep in when you're being hammered with it nonstop for 1/4th-1/3rd of the year.
>>84013408ya it can be pretty rough those months. i think the best "strategy" to make the holiday months less miserable is just focusing on the small personal things we can enjoy without money or companions. seasonal food, lights, the weather at that time of the year, that stuff. it makes them not so bad, at least for me. hope that helps and isnt tone deaf
