Day 56 of attempting to watch a movie every day from a list of movies i compiled last year from /r9k/ /tv/ and tiktok.>list can be found herehttps://letterboxd.com/negamoth/list/2026-one-movie-a-day-list/>previous thread>>84006776Today's movie was Ghost World (2001)holy shit this was a good ass movie, i really wish there were more movies where the main character is alternative, the only problem is that alternative people in movies are always depicted as judgemental assholes, the movie starts off with the main characters being mean and talking shit about everyone, every movie with alternative styled characters like goths or just outcasts always makes them out to be these cunty assholes who have nothing nice to say about anyone around them. That's the only flaw this movie has, the stereotype that alternative people are assholes, but i guess in this movie it's part of the plot, she's an asshole and grows out of it. I really empathize with the way everyone around her was changing after high school and her inability to grow the hell up, that hit close to home so i really liked that about the movie. i felt kinship with the main character. The humor in this movie is incredible by the way, it's so charismatic and silly, it had me smiling the whole time, i'm even smiling now i really liked this movie, and like i said i wish there were more movies with characters that are alternative. i'm giving this movie a 4.5 out of 5
