It's sad seeing 4chan lose popularity. But my question is, where can these people possibly be going? Aren't you here forever?
Somewhere with competent moderation. No point in staying here where all you see is spam
>>84037507>, where can these people possibly be going?anywhere but here, this place fucking sucks
>>84037507Maybe post some more nigger dicks, losers. People love that shit.
>>84037507>come to /r9k/ in 2026>standard /lgbt/ spam, black dick spam, racial humiliation/bait threads, /pol/ spam, and fembot spam is the only stuff that actually gets replies>threads that arent that either die or get 2 replies after 4 hours>if you complain about this or are nostalgic for the old days of /r9k/, you get told that is reddit and that you are a touristI wonder why no one wants to be here.
This board has turned into reddit. You literally come here just to hear shitskins cry about white men and post black dicks. You people are fucking losers.
>>84037507800 million Indians with internet access and a basic grasp of English killed 4chan. Every second thread is now some annoying jeetoid screeching about evil Whitey or posting racebait. 4chan is dead you can really tell. This place used to have so many unique posters but now I am surprised if theres even more than 20 people here. /pol/ is basically unusable now, just constant demoralization spam by the IDF and Indians.
im banned from creating threads
>>84037681The irony is non-whites ruin the free internet, leaving only the heavily censored and anti-white platforms left.
>>84037685How did you accomplish that anon?
>>84037507I am going back to inside my head and just daydrean and have autistic phantasies of conquering the world.
>>840377776-7 years ago i was avatarfagging hard and got into an argument with an anon who then turned out to be a moderator. he called me a stupid pedo and banned me. that continued for a full year until my ip address was blacklisted from creating threads on /r9k/. i can create threads on other boards fine though.
>>84037507In broader terms, I used to go on the internet to get away from the real world but now I go out into the real world to get away from the Internet.Ai slop, ragebait, scams, zoomers talking about "modern society these dasy", it's all so tiresome. Also twice two days in a row I was hit with the "Posting from your IP range has been temporarily limited because some faggot neighbor is funposting down the street through no fault of your own" which is basically a several hours long ban.I was this close to quitting forever. This is just an outlet for me to write and the 4chan I first knew nearly 20 years ago is not what this is today.
>>84037851I got hit by that IP range shit for the first time today myself. I can't quit forever though or I'd have no place to write my random fucking thoughts kinda like what you said.
>>84037925Hey before the internet we would either write down our thoughts as diaries or if we really had writer's brain we'd channel that into a proper book or film script or stage play or something else.Remember when 4chan got hacked and it was down for like two weeks?
>>84037973>Remember when 4chan got hacked and it was down for like two weeks?Yeah, I used reddit for those 2 weeks.
>>84037507The /pol/tards are siphoning out into Twitter and other social media websites since they're not banned everywhere anymore. The other leavers are bubbling themselves up in discord servers, or transitioning into normiedom.
>>84038003Your post actually implies something you would deny if presented to you
>>84038020What? Don't be vague.
>>84037851>In broader terms, I used to go on the internet to get away from the real world but now I go out into the real world to get away from the Internet.I hate to say it but it's so true.Days I spend on here and on the internet in general I find myself languishing.Days where I get up and even just doing stuff around the house, even with my shitty older family, is kind of contented, in spite of their contentiousness.I could be grabbing a coffee, cooking some food, doing a lot of things better than being here.I think it's time.
>>84038026That poltardation posts aren't as much of a turnoff as other content here, seeing as how the discordification/normfication is still ongoing.
>>84037994I couldn't be bothered. I have to double and triple filter my thought an opinion there same as anywhere else. The last time I was posting my hot takes and spicy opinions I'd have people who were even more autistic than me reviving months-old thread and messaging me all DEBATE ME YOU COWARD I FOUND ANOTHER STUDY.4chan's biggest appeal to me is that no one has an account and unless you namefag or tripfag no one call pull up your posting history to expose you as a hypocrite or whatever.People argue for a while if they want, and the thread slides past page 10 and dies off and it's like it never happened.
>>84037507Dude, look at this fucking catalog. It's complete garbage spammed by subhumans day after day, yet it's what gets activity.
>>84038034NTA but show us a thread or post that's up right now that's an example of "normfication".Is it just like people trying to help each other and improve themselves trying to get a girlfriend? That's always been on 4chan.
>>84038034I don't deny it. They make ragebait and argue a lot; that generates traffic and participation, enough to more than make-up for whatever traffic they turnoff.
>>84038051Im not the one saying that, that anon says normies in the making are leaving. If it's just lurkers then all the more so. >>84038061Bit of a workaround
>>84037507>But my question is, where can these people possibly be going? They are going outside. They grew up, and you should do it as well.Jokes aside, the internet has become too big and sanitized; more people come and go to 4chan but they don't stick around to "build a community" like people did in the late 00/early 10 here -- because they do that in Discord and Telegram where they can have more privacy and a more tight-knit group and underages are corralled in videogame circles like Roblox, Minecraft or whatever.4chan is like Palmyra, if Zenobia hadn't chimped out and Aurelian hadn't taken the city apart brick by brick: people would have found other routes and hubs of commerce besides the oasis fortress and it would have been forgotten by time.
>>84038037>I have to double and triple filter my thought an opinion there same as anywhere elseSame, I actually got banned from the a Fallout subreddit within that 2 weeks for making jokes they didn't agree with lol. I never had anyone try to debate me though. Just one guy messaged me and told me to watch myself on the Fallout subs.>People argue for a while if they want, and the thread slides past page 10 and dies off and it's like it never happened. This is the biggest appeal for me too, I get too anxious online when people can see everything I've said. A lot of the time I don't even check my replies on here because I can't be bothered to argue with retards, let alone argue over something I said months ago.
>>84038037I remember giving critique to the visibility of mechanics in MMOs and people were chimping out on me saying there were no examples and I proceeded to list off at least 10 of them or so.People use the downvote button as a disagree button and it fucks up the whole point of the website when someone says something against the grain. Also when people block you, you can't actually reply to them specifically It's an abnormally petty design.I realized I kept getting into stupid fights and I'd get notifications about old comments or so and it was just genuinely annoying. I don't know if there's a way to turn off notifications for that and I didn't really care when I deleted the account. There's room for genuine discourse but it's bogged down by random people disagreeing with it silently, and it's also bogged down by petty bullshit. I like it here because it's all temporary. People can call me brown or a slur and I don't even give a shit. It's more honest even with all the disingenuous ragebait out here. I can still springboard and start something different. Only thing I don't like is if you use any reaction image people start doing that reddit stalking thing where they look up who made posts with it so you're incentivized to use the same shitty images to remain anonymous from people who don't hold the spirit of the site in mind. I think it's also why we've become less "expressive" with our reaction images because we can't be traced as easily if we don't have an image. It's so gay, man.
>>84037507the userbase is extremely cancerous and full of hostile gatekeepers that drive away new users
Most internet communities start out as a hub for 18-24 year olds since that is the prime online demographic with a lot of energy, free time, and edgy personality. As it grows it brings in newer people, often younger, but this slows down, and eventually as the core demo ages they stop coming and there aren't enough new people to replace them. I doubt 16 year olds think of 4chan as the hyper cool place on the internet anymore so they aren't trying to sneak on, and us olds recycling our old memes arent going to hype anyone else to join. It's a slow process but it happens. It might reach a point of sustainability though.
>>84037584lmao you think that's the issue?all the loser white guys here keep posting about white supremacy.
>>84038142I feel as if a lot of oldfags forgot why everyone called themselves fags. Now they take themselves too seriously and lurk moar mindset turned into not actually wanting new blood at all.
>>84038047>>84037851>>84037681>>84037687why are you lying? most of the board is white guys making posts shilling white guys.>>84037851the moment you go outside, you realize none of these loser poltard white faggots have a life. they're all dead and hide in their basements.
>>84038171Gotta add, those self important oldfags also drove away other oldfags. It's just not fun to talk to people who only come here to argue, especially so on hobbyboards.
>>84037794>have autistic phantasies of conquering the world.I imagine a man kissing me and cuddling me, and im happy, and pretty and not dying
>>84038183You gotta try harder with your b8, bro.
>>84038185>It's just not fun to talk to people who only come here to argueOh no it's even worse than that. There are people that show up to the same kind of threads every single day and say the exact same thing. Same IPs.In a forum it's not an issue because we can see each other's names so we can go "I've argued with this person before" and avoid saying the same things again. All too often you'll get people arguing with each other not even realizing they are arguing the same things they did last time.I liken it to a circle of hell, it just perpetuates itself forever.
>>84038196nah he posted the truth
>>84038108>People use the downvote button as a disagree button and it fucks up the whole point of the website when someone says something against the grain.I actually like that one part of reddit. You could slide down to the bottom of the thread and open up the forbidden posts with negative karma to see some real spicy opinions rather than some dogshit toxic positivity empty platitude or Futurama quote that gets paraded at the top. Sort by most controversial where a post has like 5 positive karma but it's got 500 upvotes vs 495 downvotes and you can see what people are fired up about.I wish Youtube still showed the like/dislike ration on their videos. I also learned to not bother with Youtube comments as well because again I'd get some dipshit trying to throw his hat in the ring of some 15 month old argument I was having with someone else. And now we've got the language police doubling down and tripling down on forbidden words and shadowbanning your comment without ever telling you what word was deemed offensive so it's often a trial and error process and exercise in futility.I can't even fuckin imagine trying to be a content creator today that tries to do more besides just sanitized videos for children about the top 10 most epic fornite dances or something. You get your video age restricted and demonetized and shitcanned and thrown in internet prison just for being like "Vlog: picking up my blood medication at the drug store!"
>>84037507what site is picrel?
Its bad, there isnt anywhere else left online where you can just post, where it isnt recorded indefinitely against your real name, something to be summoned decades later when a random person decides to destroy your life once you've made it.Theres no where else left to scream into the void, and not have the void scream back
>>840383204stats. not spoonfeeding you more than that.

>zoomers never got to experience the #chan golden years where you could post on a different #chan board every day of the week420chan was my secondary chan of choice. I was a big dude weed lmao DMT elves epic drugs early 2010s joe rogan before he was ever on youtube sort of guy so that chan was right up my alley. I liked how they'd assign a randomly-generated name for you like Crumpbert Thasslewoods or something.I think it was 7chan that had PINGAS aka Tomorrow I'll constantly playing in the background with dancing gif letters, that was a comfy site too.Now everything is shit and I have to train myself like a fuckin ape to constantly solve captchas while eating non-bans where I can't post for like 6 hours a day as "temporary" measures against someone else shitposting. I get penalized for browsing 4chan in incognito mode because muh trusted IP muh cookies muh email sign in.but whatever, if it wasn't still kind of fun I wouldn't still be here.
>>84037507>But my question is, where can these people possibly be going? Aren't you here forever?Survivorship bias. For most people this website is a phase in their teens to early 20s. The oldfags post "you're here forever" because that's their experience.>>84038373It really fucking sucks how there are no good altchans anymore.>sharty has the most cancerous underage userbase of any website ever>8moe is just vtuber and gacha shit>everything else is too dead or irrelevant to even be worth mentioning

probably some traditional, account-based forum that's still up. there are plenty that still have "old internet humor" without getting obsessed with politics or culture wars.Something Awful has fallen victim to it all, but it's not like random small forums are gone ENTIRELY. if younger people switched to Discord, great, i'd rather be on a message board that skews 30+.
>>84038607zoomers on discord came and went bro, discord's been dying for a couple of years nowdead Internet went from a theory where it was all bots to just straight up dead Internet. no one is hereprobably this >>84037851
>>84038569It drives me nuts, having to sit here and have a 25 year old lecture me about what the internet and pop culture and dating was REALLY like 20+ years ago. Part of that is just me getting older, that's not exclusive to 4chan or even the internet. It's also funny when they think they're the first generation to have noticed that typically most people prefer attractive-looking people. Like that hasn't been true for all of human history. They have to frame it as this somehow unique situation that can only exist in their very special time. They call it an epic black pill. They're constantly re-inveting the wheel coming up with new names for ancient concepts. Are you getting a make-over? Like everyone else used to get in the 2010s and 2000s and 1990s and 1980s and 1970s and 1960s etc, etc ?No, you're being a lookspilled looksmaxxer who's looksmaxxing his aurafarm.
>>84037507Places where you don't get in 50+ replies vitriolic arguments over one misread word probably
>>84038638Makeover is a one time thing, it doesn't last. Looksmaxing is a series of changes that persist in your day to day so you are better looking in every moment. Fitness, style, skin care, hair, tons of different little things you actively take care of to look your best is looksmaxing.
They're all going to /pol/ because Trump won
I feel like older internet users were brought up in forum culture. Sure you had shitposting, breakdowns and tyrannical mods; but you also had effort posting, humour and a shared culture. New internet users are bought up in social media comment culture. Everything is my heckin' valid opinion, everything is a grand narrative, everyone wants to engage in culture wars, no one makes effort and you are one second away from a fight. The psychology of a forum user was about the culture of the place somewhat, there was an active attempt to acclimatise people towards that culture or gatekeep people away. Now though it feels impossible to defend a place because everyone feels valid to shit up the place. People moan about bots or AI but most of it is the same autists. I go on plenty of other boards and anons used to have PROJECTS, anons used to actually do things together. On /co/ there was /co/ specific memes, recommended lists creation, comic projects and Christmas gifting. People try to do that stuff now but no where near on the same scale. Most of the board is grievance tourists who make the same bait threads. To be clear, Reddit and everywhere else is worse, but for every one good thread you experience you also have several utterly awful ones.
>>84038682You can do more than one make-over, especially if the first one is a bit of a dud.>Looksmaxing is a series of changes that persist in your day to day so you are better looking in every moment. Its always been shut with spammers and garbage bait but specifically on this board the faggots have invaded and now its degenerate faggot porn all over the place.
