if i were a girl i would happily pick a sad disillusioned cynical loser male with unresolved childhood trauma and make it my mission in life to bring him joy and help him grow as a person and learn to love

unfortunately i am a man so i have to do this to girls instead but i am starting to realize girls only pretend to meet the above profile while actually being incurable narcissists

Holy shit the last girl I dated who seemed like the first thing you said was really just an incapable narcissist who was incapable of true love
>>
>>84155497
maybe a lot of guys are this too and i would never realize because i don't take romantic or sexual interest in them idk

it really does seem like females have STAGGERINGLY higher rates of cluster B shit in general but especially narcissism
>>
>>84155489
How do people meet so many "narcissists" and not at least, at least pause to question how statistically improbable that is. everyone and their grandma has had the grace of meeting a dozen of them at this point

>Why is there more alcoholics in a bar?
The internet is to narcissists what a bar is to alcoholics.
>>
>>84155594
im with a very sweet girl rn who was herself a victim of a narcissist in her past relationship and that's how we bonded

>>84155626
sometimes it really just is this simple
sometimes people are just shitty
>>

She definitely had all the fucked up shit like a shitty childhood and trauma and cynical outlooks. I think her need fo exert power in a relationship (narcissism) stemmed from not having any power her entire life.
I actually did love her deeply, so I really hope she gets better, but she seemed to view me as more of a pet/resource which ultimately lead to me being miserable in the relationship.

She used to withhold affection and sex and seemed to use them to reward me for good behavior or use them to get things from me. Fucked up shit ..

I'm slowly beginning to realize this. I've been on the internet since I was a kid in the late 90s, because I was a loner weeb nerd and I could be open and genuine about my embarrassing hobbies and interests online. At first everyone else was just a genuine loner nerd too, so it kind of influenced how I imagine other people online, but then the normie legion was let loose on the internet and I doubt that kind of genuine, open, loner nerd even makes up a fraction of a percent of internet users anymore. It's all narcissists and psychopaths and normies that don't even see you as a genuine human. You're just attention or "engagement" or an audience. Everyone wants to argue and insult and bully others. It's no better than irl was. Hell, it's worse.

There is no safe spaces anymore, they need us miserable

The gamblers come and go but the slot machine stays.

it might be a generational thing too because zoomers and younger millenials grew up in a post-facebook world and just never learned emotional intelligence

but honestly the more i look around the more it seems we're the odd ones out, having self awareness and empathy and high emotional intelligence in general is exceptionally rare and if u don't get born a nepo baby and slot comfortably into a leadership role ur only reward for high EQ is being repeatedly used as a narc supply

I just want to be alone, away from everyone. All I meet is vampires

theoretically if you keep trying you can eventually meet someone who reciprocates

I've been hearing about classic internet renaissance stuff, detached one-author sites made on neocities and such as pure passion projects. No likes, no data collection, no engagement farming. Maybe I ought to get involved in that. I'd be much more likely to find other people like me in such places. The aesthetic and layouts would be really nice nostalgia as well. The internet and websites were just so much warmer and comfier back then.

I hope that's not the case. My generation is all so politically-obsessed and radicalized so I tend to gravitate more toward zoomers, but it is true that younger people have a sort of emotional detachment that's off-putting.

I do feel like I'm emotionally incompatible with most people, or rather that we are incapable of emotion on the same wavelengths. I seem to be way more intense and genuine, so I do get used a lot in friendships and relationships lmao.
I'm working on moving to the countryside and being a hermit though, I'd definitely be happier like that. It'd be good to take up more outdoorsy hobbies. Fishing, boating/rowing, hunting, hiking, raising animals, gardening, woodworking, carpentry, blacksmithing... god I need to get out of the city.

I feel you. I'm starting to feel like Robert Neville from I Am Legend..
