And maybe it was going to even improve our lives.
Then we slowly realized it's just going to lead to another massive transfer of wealth to the ultra-wealthy and everyone else is going to become a serf.
Even if you're more optimistic, AI right now has just been used to scam people, flood the internet with dogshit spam, and is the pretext for job-secure salaried employees to enter retail work after being fired. I literally see 0 people who are optimistic about AI, only "it's not going to be that bad", unless they're working for an AI company.

If someone really believed in AI, why wouldn't they be part of an AI company? It would be hypocritical not to.

The AI company just pays better and provides better benefits than 99% of companies in the US, and you're also kind of promised to be the lords over the serfs in the future, although obviously if/when there's 50+% unemployment the lords can still always just further replaced by Indians getting paid 60k/yr.

Eh, it was obvious that when it became popular the internet would be filled with crap at a relentless pace.

Regarding its use, some guy years ago summed it up quite well, the amount of things you can get with bruteforcing a LLM can be staggering and yes, helpful. It won't be AGI or anywhere near though.

Enshittification already justifies mass-firing/shrinkage of any slightly decent jobs the US has left to offer by using AI slop. It doesn't need to be AGI which nobody genuinely believes is coming anytime soon.
Do you actually have any recorded predictions from 2022 that the internet would get this bad this fast from AI slop? Everything that's ever happened is obvious in retrospect, but even the smartest experts are barely more correct about the future than random chance.

COVID 19 was a wealth transfer from small businesses who went bankrupt to big business. The left didn't care because Pfizer and Moderna are on the right side of history.

Anyone who has ever seen an overused meme around here could have told you that it would happen.
Harder to predict imo is this fad of treating gpt like your pal to the point it ends up actively isolating not for the rp fandom geeks but for normies too.

Show the predictions then, I'd love to see them
>>

How is anything you said any different from the normie impact on the internet that has been happening for the past decade and longer?
>protip:it's not

How has the internet destroyed job security and salaried work? Do you actually think memes you don't like are comparable to AI slop farms?

The vaccine had really nothing to do with it. People voted for COVID-19 lockdown/fiscal policies that did result in a mass wealth transfer because they thought it was life-saving (and by all measures it was), but AI is promising something vastly worse with essentially no upsides except for the ultra-wealthy, and nobody in politics is treating it with any seriousness. Almost all of it is up to a few oligarchs who essentially buy the president's decisions at any moment.
