Democracy is constantly being used to refer to a republic, which is actually an aristocracy or an oligarchy depending on the size. It's not difficult to find communists embracing farm or factory work, or eugenicists who think they shouldn't be allowed to procreate, or generally elitists who think they'll be ruled and not rule. While it's fun to imagine yourself as Komissar Chad by royal comission who gets to tell the retards what to do and show them how things are to be run, it's usually kept to fantasy and isn't an actual presumption for their ideology. People who idealize war are especially poor examples, since ultimately hopeless last stands and bitterly dying for lost causes is what's glorified by them beyond all else. Myself, I know for sure I wouldn't survive what I want to happen, and even if I did I'd suffer greatly out of my own ineptitude and be among the lowest and most miserable on earth.

Somewhat normal people generally want things that benefit them, or that they think will benefit them, and that includes extremist politics though. I guess the other reason would be religious, ie. out of a sense of guilt for having been born the wrong race or class; those types might also want to live in a system that treats them poorly, but I agree with the other anon's assertions that most of the people who support various forms of dystopian hellhole-ism think they will be exempt from the shittier parts of it.
