I just got $300 of food stamps and I want to binge on donuts and Doritos. I told my therapist I would try to lose weight but the pull of these snacks is too great. What do I do. I'm already 300+ pounds, fuck.

It's fine though, the urge to binge passed. Feels good. I keep forgetting that urges come and go and you often just have to wait them out

Salt, MSG, yeast extract, and disodium inosinate & guanylate are common ingredients in a lot of tasty snacks like doritos.
You can't get fat if you're full so my trick is to make a big bowl of rice and a smaller bowl of an intensely spiced side. Load it up with floral/fruity peppers like used in Chinese food, you need enough that eating it causes euphoria. Multiply chilis by five in any spicy recipe and it's a good starting point. Garlic and szechuan pepper is another good one to add.
You take a bite of the intensely savory, fragrant, picquant side and it's a little overwhelming so you mostly fill up on rice which is empty calories. Basically pure carbs so the body immediately uses it for energy instead of storing as fat. You never see a fat jap so it's pretty effective. The actual ingredients in the side don't really matter because the taste overwhelms any subtle notes they might contribute. I like diced pork loin or chicken thigh with celery for crunch and mushrooms. For this it's mainly about texture.
Soup and pickles are nice to have with the meal too. Soup is only as good as the stock and strangely enough vegetable stock is king of the kitchen 99% of the time. Roast a halved cabbage with some carrots and onion then dump in a pot of water with celery, dried lily buds, dried mushrooms, and a chunk of kombu kelp. Bring to boil and boil the shit out of it, just remember to take the kelp out before it reaches full boil, otherwise it will taste like shit if allowed to boil. Easiest soup is egg drop. Just add stock, salt, and corn starch. Bring to boil and remove from heat, stir it so it's swirly and drop two whipped eggs in and a, handful of green onion.
What really makes it effective is it's a pain in the ass to make. You wind up waiting until just before bed or the next day before you feel hungry enough to eat. Nothing makes me lose appetite like the thought of spending 45 minutes in the kitchen. It's so delicious you won't like anything else.
