Is Sleep Unnecessary?I recently saw an anonymous user here on 4chan saying they only slept 12 hours a week. This made me reflect. I have trouble sleeping and have already tried to solve this problem with several medications: clonazepam, alprazolam, lorazepam, zolpidem, quetiapine, and none worked. I know there are more sleeping pills, but I don't want to spend my time and money figuring out if they will work for me or not.I thought: I'll try to sleep, and if I lie in bed for more than an hour and can't fall asleep, I'll simply give up on sleeping and stay awake, only trying to sleep again the next day. What do you think of the idea? That's what I did today; I tried to sleep for an hour and couldn't, so I stayed awake during the night and will only try to sleep tonight. I think it's not so bad to go a few nights a week without sleep. It seems I can handle the lack of sleep calmly without it affecting my day too much.
>>84163250>I recently heard a lie from a liarOkay. Go to sleep, dumbass.
>>84163250Sleep is the biggest waste of time. You waste half of you life laying there doing nothing. Not even thinking. I hate it. Wish we could evolve past sleeping.
Sleep is necessary for your brain to manage your body processes it cant deal with when you are awake. There is just not enough RAM. But you can technically go as low as 4 hours of sleep per day. I havent heard of anyone who did less and lived to tell the tale though
>>84163273You are thinking during sleep. You can even experience some amazing movies with you as a main character. Shit's cracked.
>>84163281It's not active thinking. It's like watching ai slop in there. And no, I don't care about lucid dreaming. I want to be awake in the physical world 24/7. Sleep is a waste of time.
>>84163308wow you must have a really amazing real life that the thrilling and personalized adventures in another world are boring to you
>>84163250I know how you feel, OP. But you will only fuck your brain more that way (I think), I also don't know what to do anymore, insomnia makes me useless.
>>84163329I already have a very vivid and visual imagination while awake. I can glaze over and simulate things in my mind. I don't need to have it in an uncontrolled environment while I lay there doing nothing. It's a waste of life time.
