It's crazy how I remember everyone hating 2016 when it was the present and saying it was the worst year ever, yet somehow, things have gotten so much worse that 2016 actually feels like a good year when I look back on it. I don't think you can really argue that it's "just nostalgia", objectively, everything IS getting enshitified, and no one can deny it anymore.

It was not a good year. I was extremely depressed between the years of 2012 and 2018.The SJW shit was just fucking awful, and there was no mainstream resistance to it at all. People I previously admired like Graham Linehan were out there calling me a piece of shit for not immediatley taking the journalists' sides over GG. I got to sit there and watch all of my favourite science fiction franchises get absolutely raped to shit. I think I have unironic trauma from those years.

I was riding the highs of mania in 2016. Truly bliss. I honestly don't think any drug can compare to that 3-6 month episode. I wish to do it again.

2016 was ass. Trump got elected, SJW and feminism attacking videogame culture was at an all time high. Shit sucked balls. Not saying 2026 is any better but, 2016 was not good as zoomers remember it.
