People from florida, south west florida especially, use PVC pipes to pump water into their homes. They glue these pipes together with purple and blue PVC glue (picrel). They then drink water out of their faucet after "filtering" it with a Brita. This is unlike most other parts of the developed world that use metal pipes. This is what causes the mental retardation and neurological degeneration of Floridians. Their hormonal systems are likely out of whack because of their contaminated water.
