If life were like a videogame and you could spend skill points on learning musical instruments, which instruments would you pick and why?

all on the triangle

Why the triangle
>>
I would have to decide between two: eletric guitar and the bass. Eletric guitar sounds cooler but I heard that it's harder to find bassists where I live, which means I could join a band more easily if I played the bass.
>>
>>84211721
Around here we used to just force the worst guitar player to get a bass.
>>
>>84211380
Tuba because I like melodies that focus on the bass register, and hurdy gurdy because I like playing less common instruments and for solo playing
>>
>>84211380
Mayonnaise. /thread
>>
>>84212305
Mayonnaise is not an instrument.
>>
>>84212502
Everything can be an instrument if you want it to be.
>>
>>84211380
Piano. I am trying to learn it currently.
I am also practicing very little of guitar. I have trouble relaxing my wrist.
>>
i can already play guitar pretty well, id pick violin, its the most pleasant sounding instrument
>>
>>84213211
nah cello is way better
>>
>>84213213
cello would be 2nd pick, it seems annoying to play it
>>
>>84211380
>If life were like a videogame
You mean The Sims?
>>
>>84213218
what makes you think cello would be annoying to play?
>>
>>84213228
i already play guitar and im used to the position its played in, it would take me a long time to get used to the cellos position. playing a guitar in a cellos position seems very weird for my fretting hand
>>
>>84211380
Fuck being good at an instrument, I would put those points into songwriting ability.
Do you know how many songs use simple chords to make something greater than the sum of its parts?
>>
>>84213256
thats true. thats why you learn multiple instruments
>>
>>84211380
if singing counts that one

XD
>>
I already learned bass. Whats funny is that after years of playing it, I realized what was holding me back was the bass its self. I had a really shitty P Fender and I just never upgraded, I played it until it literally fell apart.

The P fenders have shitty pick ups and shitty stiff ass strings that have the most stiff fucking action you've ever felt in your life. I replaced the strings and it still wasn't enough for the action on that thing.
>>
>>84213284
It does though the idea is to play an actual instrument, outside of your body.

>>84211380
I would divide my skill points between piano and guitar and ukulele and mandolin and banjo and violin and drums.

Why be a master when I could be a jack of all trades, master of none? I was never going to uproot my life and become a musician, so mastery doesn't suit me.
>>
>>84213224
Which Sims game?
>>
>>84211380
I don't really get this sentiment. If you "would" learn an instrument why don't you just do it
>>
>>84211380
Life is like a videogame but your parents choose your starting class stats and then they choose what farming missions you do

So you end up with a really weak early game class and then they send you on missions to farm for late game buffs, but then the game updates in 10-20 years and now all the loot and leveling you did was worthless. Now you're just a weak early game character by mid game, and your parents are late game characters and they don't really have anything going on either.
>>
>>84211380
The hurdy-gurdy
>>
>>84214865
its really difficult to get to a mediocre level at an instrument and most people dont have the dedication it takes. its like learning a new language but 10x more difficult. it takes people like 6 months to do something simple like fluidly switching between basic cowboy chords on a guitar and it takes years and years to play simple pentatonic solos that dont sound like robotic scale practice. you have to be really obsessed with being good at it to get good and most give up early and i dont even blame them because its fucking hard
>>
>>84213277
You don't need to learn instruments to get into songwriting.
>>
>>84211380
Violin just because I love the sound of Violin music I don't really care about playing music myself. It activates something viseral and ancient in me. A girl could probably legit seduce me with violin music. Not that women ever try to be romantic. I swear I was supposed to be a rich aristocrat or noble but I was born in this modern dystopian hell instead.

violin and cello have a certain type of dramatic elegance that no other instrument has
>>
>>84215061
You do if you wanna make good music
>>
how do i get skill points?
>>
>>84215129

What do you mean with this?

life is like a video game, though.
skill points are called hours in this game. exp is called memories. video games are a waste of time compared to gaming reality. the epstein files should be required reading for robots. that guy treated life like a video game and look how far he got. i'm not saying to become a pedo or commit crimes, i'm just saying the world isn't as mysterious or random as you might think. there are patterns to learn and bugs to exploit that most people never even consider. epstein realized this and hacked society like he was modding skyrim or something.

Ukulele seems pretty cool to learn, since its a pretty laid back instrument

In the current year I would master the software, AI and otherwise, that allows you to basically create any music you want.
>>
Piano. If you're a god on piano/keyboards you can play anything, make any type of music.
I'm already good enough with the guitar but piano would really round me out.
>>
>>84216935
ukulele sucks just learn a guitar
>>
>>84211380
>If life were like a videogame
My life is like a video game, trying hard to beat the stage
All while I am still collecting coins
>>

Why do you say that ukulele sucks
>>
>>84218300
doesn't sound that good and very limited. Basically a worse guitar
>>
>>84211380
piano is above everything else and it's not even close
everyone knows this they are just coping with the guitar bullshit
>>
>>84218332
is a keyboard good enough? getting an acoustic piano is a bit difficult

just know that pedals basically don't work at all on keyboards and digital pianos. it's a complete joke. it's what manufacturers try to hide from you too. otherwise yeah you can learn to play, except the pedals
>>
>>84218398
i have a keyboard without the pedals. I know its a meme
>>
no keep making Clean or else
>>
>>84211380
The guitar. Because I mostly listen to guitar music. But the kind of guitar music I like requires intermediate-to-advanced level of skill, so it would take me a long time to get to that point with practice.
>>
>>84218312
Its more about the vibe than the actual music. I could see myself chilling in a pool or beach and just strumming a ukulele. Guitar doesnt really fit that as well
>>
>>84218405
for normal people that's as good as it gets. if richfags can drop a hundred grand on a nice piano to put in their five mil house, good for them
>>
>>84215044
Like with most things, it's really not that difficult to learn if you're still a kid, especially a very young kid, because your brain is very plastic. But it's much much harder, if you're picking it up as an adult.
>>
Guitar and I can be like lemmy from motorhead fuck yeeeaaah bitch
>>
you still have no answered how we get skill points
>>
I know how to play tenor sax and clarinet but I can never practice because I live with my parents
I also can't play by ear so I can't play any of the anime or video game songs I actually want to
It kills me inside to have wasted my talent
>>
>>84218346
Funny reference
>>
>>84219142
Mastery of one instrument for every one person you've had sex with.
