I'll share a bit about my experience with zolpidem here.Context: Zolpidem is a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic drug. It is indicated for short-term use to treat insomnia. Zolpidem should not be used for more than 4 weeks, nor should more than 10mg of zolpidem be taken per day. At high doses, it can cause hallucinations and memory loss. In some cases, zolpidem can worsen insomnia.My experience: I think the first time I used zolpidem was in April 2025. I took 10mg before bed to treat my insomnia. I took 10mg of zolpidem per day for 30 days. And nothing changed. I continued to have exactly the same difficulty sleeping; it neither improved nor worsened.Several months later, I think in July 2025, I started using zolpidem recreationally. I took 50mg, I had a hallucination: I was on the couch with my mother, but her face was distorted, so I asked "Mom, is that you?" and she said "Yes". I also had amnesia, I couldn't remember anything else that happened while the zolpidem was on.Some time later, I decided to take 30mg, it had been a short time since I had just woken up. I didn't have any hallucinations. But I did have amnesia. I had taken public transport to go to another neighborhood, but I didn't remember any of it. When I regained consciousness I was already inside a building in that other neighborhood.In March 2026 I even took 70mg of zolpidem in 1 day because I couldn't sleep. But it didn't work, even so I couldn't sleep properly.I took 50mg, but I only had amnesia.Also in March of this year I took 30mg. I only had amnesia, I remember taking the medicine at 7:00 pm. I woke up in my bed with no memory of anything; my last recollection was that I was on the computer, checking the time, it was 7:37 PM.Conclusion: For me, zolpidem is a 6/10 medication. Nowadays it doesn't cause hallucinations, but even if it did, I wouldn't remember them. Zolpidem also causes a state of relaxation similar to alcohol.
