Hello everyone, hope you're all doing alright.
Today I saw my shrink for (hopefully) the last time. Things were very difficult when I started posting here but I've come a long way since then and a big part of that is thanks to the support from you guys.
Later I went on a trip by boat to the island that all the rich expats live on. It's very nice and very quiet (and very, very expensive by the look of it). It almost didn't feel like a real place. I've attached a turtle I saw at the park there. The journey back was very relaxing.

the one you said looked kinda like lucy liu? lol suppose not worth going to see if you're overall happy about your situation
> rich expats live on.
the little enclaves of rich expats are always interesting to see. Remember walking around one in Vietnam too and you just see a bunch of older looking white guys playing soccer in a field and makes you forget where you for a second.
>attached a turtle I saw at the park there.
nice turtle. I had a few in my house growing up. Pretty sure you're not supposed to keep them as pets here though but oh well

wassup everyone, quiet day today. almost panicked cus it was wednesday (a day i can't bedrot) but luckily it wasn't. got alot of shit to do tomorrow tho. atleast i've been feeling a bit better, maybe i can stop being a doomer once and for all.

>>84261710
hey man good to see you too, been a while since i really talked in the thread.
>don't know what this
i remember it being popular back around the time that ME!ME!ME! song was popular, this was the sequel to that and it shows the struggles of the japanese young woman as a sorta flipside, same themes as like escapism but this time also focusing a bit on the sexual exploitation there. i must've been like 13 or 14 when i found out about it and i thought it was pretty profound, it was calling out the dark side of japanese culture in a medium of the more well liked culture (anime/music).

>>84262671
heya dinon. glad to see ya again.
>Today I saw my shrink for (hopefully) the last time.
that's good right? glad to hear you're doing better.
>It almost didn't feel like a real place.
they always don't, i used to have to bike past the rich area of my city and it was always like ethereal seeing the mansions with like the porsches and ferraris in front of them. it's like looking at the complete opposite of humanity and honestly it's kinda sad.
> I've attached a turtle I saw at the park
cute, i love animals man.

Yes. I'll miss her a little bit.
>suppose not worth going to see if you're overall happy about your situation
I think they keep my file open for six months so I could go back if anything happens. But my life is a hell of a lot more stable now so I think I'll be alright. Other people need the slots more.
>the little enclaves of rich expats are always interesting to see
>makes you forget where you for a second.
There and another district have an outsized number of white people. It's really weird being there because I can go weeks without seeing another foreigner, even in really busy areas.
I went to a fish and chip place today (because I too am a walking stereotype) and the only people in there were two old (like at least 70) white dudes watching Monty Python clips on their phone. Besides the weather, it felt like a completely different country - the half hour boat ride there probably helps.
>Pretty sure you're not supposed to keep them as pets here though but oh well
I think the one in my picture might be an invasive species. He seemed like a good lad though.

This happens to me very often. I get so confused by which day it is and 3/4 of the time I'm way off.
>got alot of shit to do tomorrow tho
Ganbatte with your stuff, chev
>heya dinon. glad to see ya again.
And you!
>that's good right?
I'd say so. I don't know if I'd say I'm back to normal, but I'm about as normal as I'll get without the healing properties of time.
>mansions with like the porsches and ferraris
I think it's one of those rare communities where you're not allowed to own a car but some people have golf carts. It felt a lot like what I imagine a resort town (with very nice ice cream) or gated community is like. It was almost silent compared to what I'm used to here. Nice place but I'm not sure I could live there since everything is more expensive.

yeah same, it's gotten so bad i need to actually have a calendar where i can mark off the days. i still got one somewhere i think, i'll put it up someday.
>Ganbatte with your stuff, chev
thanks man, the word ganbatte always reminds me of shogun 2 lol.
>but I'm about as normal as I'll get without the healing properties of time.
then you're probably more normal than the average person, just take it easy dude. something i've noticed is that most people are way less functional then they seem or like to put on. atleast some people can admit that, if only to themselves.
>Nice place but I'm not sure I could live there since everything is more expensive.
yeah, personally i don't think it's anything for me. ideally i'd like to live in one of those smaller towns, but modern life really pushes young people into the cities unfortunately.

Mine too. I have start working a new job tomorrow so today basically had completely free to do whatever.
>atleast i've been feeling a bit better
that's good, glad you got that before you hit your busy day
>ME!ME!ME! song was popular, this was the sequel
that's some more context i didn't know, yeah i remember that one at least
> it was calling out the dark side of japanese culture
it is something that I think a lot of people gloss over. People idealize Japan, not even just weebs, but it's got a lot of issues that are quite different in the west and are either very disturbing

>>84264414
>'ll miss her a little bit.
end of day, not worth paying for if not needed I suppose
>they keep my file open for six months so I could go back if anything happens.
hopefully not. Honestly, even if the file closes, usually if you got something from seeing someone, you know what to say to fast forward past what you learned last time
>It's really weird being there because I can go weeks without seeing another foreigner
i know what you mean. I was in asia long enough to know even in touristy areas, you might not spot them since people from nearby countries were always the predominant foreigner (Except Pattaya in Thailand which I swear feel like old white dude is majority of the population)
>I went to a fish and chip place today (because I too am a walking stereotype)
nothing wrong with that since I'm crazy for fish and chips too. also had to be the stereotype of getting burgers when I was overseas.. Think I've eaten at a Burger King in every country I've ever been in weirdly enough..
>He seemed like a good lad though.
suppose he didn't choose to be an invasive species after all D:

>glad you got that before you hit your busy day
yeah exactly, i hope it won't be too bad tomorrow tho. atleast i can keep myself busy enough to not fall asleep.
>yeah i remember that one at least
yeah, it was quite shocking back then, kinda funny how it wouldn't be anything special nowadays. makes me kinda icked by where we are as a society.
>People idealize Japan, not even just weebs
kinda funny, i guess i was a weeb back in the day but i never idealized it, japan always has been very dystopian in my eyes, especially how they have such a sqeaky clean exterior apparently while the dark sides are really fucking dark.
>quite different in the west and are either very disturbing
honestly i'd say they've got the same problems as the west, just appearing differently. exploitation, crime etc are all things that are kinda universal i feel like.

>>84265082
heya cat! hope you're doing alright

eh just more paperwork and then i'm gonna play a 2v1 game of kill team. i have a feeling i'll be very quiet during that game.

thank you! And thank you for being here over the years. I realize I thinking over I started talking to both you and Yuanon around the time I started the one I'm leaving and now onto the next.
>are you stressed?
a little nervous, not so stressed. But should be fine. just need to sleep well tonight
>long drive to it compard to the old one?
not too bad, maybe a little more, but I'll leave early and it's not everyday

>>84265140
>ah i must've missed that.
think I directly mentioned only once or twice so not broadcasting loudly
>much different from your old job?
not too much, but hoping it's a better environment than what I'm leaving
>makes me kinda icked by where we are as a society.
what's shocking yesterday is normal today in a lot of very unfortunate ways
> i was a weeb back in the day but i never idealized it
I'm a weeb even now and still don't idealize it. Asia in general has a lot of terrible downsides. I only idealize it because I kind of have a thing for Asian women and I was the happiest there because of that
>all things that are kinda universal i feel like.
those are true, though western crime I'd say is much different than crime in Asia. I'm in the US and I'd much rather have the crime they have going on than the gun violence we have here but still. I was thinking a lot about the worklife situation there at the top of my mind. Guess you can have that in the west, but working absurd and honestly dangerous hours is the norm in much of east Asia, not the exception like the west.

then that's good, wishing you the best of luck.
>yesterday is normal today in a lot of very unfortunate ways
yeah exactly, never underestimate people's willingness and perseverance to destroy their humanity.
>Asia in general has a lot of terrible downsides
it seems like that yeah, i wonder what drives people there to continue each day, is it just not knowing any better?
>spoilered
yeah that's fair, atleast you're honest about it.
>I'd much rather have the crime
grass is greener on the other side n allat. sometimes I feel that way too, but nobody really cares enough to fix any problem tho, there's just too much money in it.
>not the exception like the west.
it'll be the norm here too soon, it'll only get worse i think. it's whatever really.

also been meaning to ask, you got discord or something?

>wishing you the best of luck
thanks, appreciate and will need it I'm sure
>perseverance to destroy their humanity.
we seem to speed running this now and for seemingly no reason whatsoever.
> what drives people there to continue each day, is it just not knowing any better?
part of it probably, but also what choice do you have. If you're unhappy about how things are where you are, society you live, only choice is to work hard to change that. And you work hard and succeed, things start looking better sometimes and you're more deeply rooted at that point.
>atleast you're honest about it.
used to ashamed because I thought there was a stigma about this, but no one really cares
>grass is greener
I know it's always best to avoid thinking that way, but I grew up with so many shootings constantly in the news every week, I know no where is perfect, but this shit is absurd it's so bad in a developed country.
>it'll be the norm here too soon
that does seem to be the way things are shifting. Not a good time to be starting to work and trying to figure out what to do. Feel bad for younger people who haven't worked as long as I have yet.
> you got discord or something?
yeah i do. Would you post yours here? I tend to avoid posting mine since I don't use a burner, but I can add you or if you have added either Yuanon or cat, both of them have my Discord and can ask one of them.

no problem man, hope all goes well.
>seemingly no reason whatsoever.
this would be the time i'd start spouting shit about the 7 sins whatever, but that'd just be the religious nutcase in me speaking. there's probably some sort of scientific answer to it but i'm afraid I don't have it.
>And you work hard and succeed, things start looking better sometimes and you're more deeply rooted at that point.
I guess so, but to me that just sounds like drowning your grievances in money and status or whatever.
>but no one really cares
yeah it's whatever, personally even if I don't agree with something I can still respect it if people are just honest about it.
>but this shit is absurd it's so bad in a developed country.
kinda happens here just in a different way with like stabbings and drug related violence, i think the 1st world is just finally crumbling under it's own weight of the problems that they didn't find important enough to address.
>Feel bad for younger people who haven't worked as long as I have yet.
people tell me the same thing, not really looking forward to working then, so having a job i enjoy and am motivated for is now almost mandatory.
>Would you post yours here?
eh i'd rather not for now, I'll ask yours from yuanon maybe tomorrow.
