In the past basically every single aspect of life was better. The small handful of things that weren't can be retconned. Probably using words the wrong way, but it makes some sense at least. What are the major constraints and needs of the human? Time is a big one, limited lifespan and the aging process. Energy is related, and unlike time we have some degree of control of energy; food, light, heat, inertia, whatever. Space is self explanatory, physical location occupied by a person and their activities and the external conditions that occur within this area. These all point to what I'll call safety for lack of a, better word. We need food, a place to eat, place to eliminate waste, to avoid threats to bodily integrity, and diversion/entertainment/leisure.The best way of doing anything is always the easiest, shortest path, least resistance. I won't bother with a whole treatise here. Acquire a house and food source, everything else arises as a natural consequence of having these two things. If it seems too simple that's because it is. Artificial constraints are in place. Taxes, laws, codes, crime, these are one and the same, threats posed by other humans.
