One thing that is not talked about very much (but is pretty obvious) is that often bullied kids have personalities and traits of behaviour that massively alienate and irritate others. They cannot read the room or think about what is appropriate or at least try to fit in. So, they receive hostility and meanness from others.

This was a big problem for me in school. I was a normal honor student till grade 3 then a divorce destroyed my life, I started missing 100+ days of school a year but still showed up for tests and got 85% plus, never did homework knowing I could skip it and still pass.
