Unfortunately that is the meta for 2020's dating apps.
Which means you need to budget for potentially hundreds of dollars every month on superlikes and premium memberships.
It's not 100% corporate greed or 100% hypergamy, either, so don't waste your energy getting mad about it. A good deal of the issue is just the consequences of online dating getting flooded at the start of the decade.
