>what's the projected utility of space exploration for us mere mortals?
Are you asking what the utility of being able to access minerals and metals at potentially thousands of times greater concentration and purity vs mining on earth, as well as being orders of magnitude more abundant in an absolute sense?
I mean, it's sort of self-evident, no? Yes, it's very good to have a e.g. million tons of ruthenium available on demand.

sorry lad, worded that poorly. i agree that would be useful which is what i was saying afterwards: it would even be hilarious if we immediately resolve all these climate/resource concerns by just farming space.

i mean, what's the projected timescale? my dad was a toddler when the Moon landing happened. if i have grandkids, will they see routine space travel to help keep them warm and fed?

Just done the lawns, out front was a disaster and now it's still a bit shit but shorter. Back is kind of a mess because wet winter and dogberg killed a lot of it, but that's shorter so at least it's easier to locate lumps of shit in it. Extremely slapdash job but the mower is slightly broken and it's the amount of energy I had available to devote to it.

All I need to do is prepare the roast dins at some point in the next few hours and get a nice early night. I can manage it all, it's achievable, we can do it.

>>
I feel like the scale of the difference is actually not fully grasped by people. I don't think I made this clear in my post>>84303845

To give a bit better idea, let me give an example. There is one asteroid that has been identified called 16 Psyche (one out of the hundreds of millions in the solar system, of which we have evaluated maybe 0.00001% to any degree), which has been verified to contain the equivalent of 10,000 QUADRILLION dollars (assuming it was able to be liquidated all at once with no drop via supply-demand curves blah blah blah you get the idea) worth of platinum, gold and palladium. Of course in real terms it wouldn't be worth that much just due to how money works, but the point remains, there are INDIVIDUAL asteroids with enough precious metals in them to totally and permanently upend the entire economy. Superconductors the price of bicycles, lasers the price of torches, gaming mice with platinum used connections. The remaining bottlenecks will not be availability or price of components but ability to reshape the substrates themselves.
>>
My trip isn't there, but then again I barely post here any more and haven't been on trip for a long while. I like to think I was a relatively positive poster though x

You obviously have had ID at some point if you have used those NHS services. When I moved GP surgeries last year I had to go in and show them my passport. You wouldn't use the NHS for months/years and nothing like that ever came up. So it sounds more like your parents haven't explained something properly. You obviously will have had a birth certificate at some point. You can get a replacement for 10 quid.

the GP I use is the same GP I've always went to since birth so I've never needed to use ID. I call up and they ask my name, check it on their database and say "OK!"
I've never moved GPs because I've always lived in the same area, the only times I've moved houses has been within the same 20 minute walking distance.
>You wouldn't use the NHS for months/years and nothing like that ever came up
I honestly don't know what to tell you anon but they've never asked for ID or anything, I'm in Scotland so maybe it's different or maybe it's because I've never changed GPs.
>sounds more like your parents haven't explained something properly
Probably.
Not to blogpost again but when I was in my teens and other peoples parents were giving their kids credit cards / debit cards and setting up their bank accounts to use I was told "no you're not getting one you'll squander all the money in it, you'll waste it"
When parents were getting their kids cars I was told "no it's too dangerous for you because you're half blind"
>You obviously will have had a birth certificate at some point. You can get a replacement for 10 quid.
Yeah I did have one at some point but when we moved house once it must've got lost or something.
Where exactly would I get a replacement and how, if I don't have an ID how tf can I get one, I've asked my dad to help me with it before but he always just brushes it off. I realize how much of a pathetic situation this is
>>
>>84304036

>>

The hardest part for me I think is going to be not breaking down, the idea of having to explain my shit stain of a life to some worker and them laughing about it or judging it makes me feel like crying, which is even more revolting as a man

I've always been terrified of the outside world and life in general because of insecurities and shit experiences but the reality of being nearly 30, half my life is over and i've done nothing, is pushing me to at least enter the wagie life, even if I get fired, even if I can't find jobs for months at a time, I just need something.

I just don't really use any money. I don't pay bills, I don't pay rent, I don't pay leccy, I don't buy anything for myself and I try to minimize how much money I cost by doing...nothing.
The money I cost them is basically
electricity, internet, gas for showers which I take infrequently to avoid costing them too much, I eat whatever food is given to me and don't complain so however much that costs.

tldr, I just don't really have my own money or spend money

>>
>>84304314
Thanks anon.
>What do u enjoy doing in life any interests?
Not really, I've been depressed and in my own bubble for such a long time that I don't even know what I enjoy anymore. As disgusting as it is my only vices are watching youtube, streams, jerking off, I absolutely have a porn addiction that I need to slowly break off from.

>>84304318
The problem is anon, I've gone without money my entire life that I've never used it to buy anything for myself so as much as I intellectually understand what money is and the value it is, I as a person don't value it, so even going on universal credit and getting free money doesn't motivate me because I've never bought anything for myself.
>would your parents have an issue with that
my step mum probably not, she frequently tells me I need to 'sign on'
my dad, idk. To blog post again...I think he is truly kinda the reason I'm like this.
Like I said >>84304036
> but when I was in my teens and other peoples parents were giving their kids credit cards / debit cards and setting up their bank accounts to use I was told "no you're not getting one you'll squander all the money in it, you'll waste it"

From 1944 to the 1970s, the Grammar school system and the 11 plus exam meant that high IQ kids from working class backgrounds got to go to nice Grammar schools amongst studious middle class kids. These high IQ working class kids ended up as middle class themselves and got nice jobs. Social mobility.
Grammar schools ended but social mobility through the education still existed and continued albeit to a less degree.

What happened was all the higher IQ working class lads became middle class and what was left were just the dross and drivel at the bottom.

White working class English people became essential dysgenic both biologically and culturally. They disproportionately have learning disabilities and low IQ traits. They have a culture that shuns intellect and hard work in favour of skiving and fucking about.
>>
>>84304604
The competency crisis is due to this.

Back in the 50s, 60s and 70s if there was a problem at the post office there would have been some working class man with a fairly high IQ to sort it out.

Due to social mobility that person is gone. His children moved up, did well at school and went to uni. Now we have the dregs of society running everything at the bottom.

The government knows this and solution is to import numerous immigrants. Initially from Poland and now from the Indian subcontinent post Brexit.

Dismal state of affairs lads.

the working class work harder than the middle class though
attending zoom meetings and writing emails is not a job

Too right. This is ultimately why I have abandoned the whole concept of democracy and freedom of speech and thought. Most people are too stupid and conformist to think and what they think and say is of no value whatsoever.

What we need is an authoritarian state run along eugenics lines. I want fertile breeding programmes in which high IQ mathematicians and programmers will be bred with the most eugenically fit femoids.

The dullard chavs who tormented me at school will be promptly castrated and sent to the mines to be worked.

Oh look the Thailand paedophile mong replying to himself again

>attending zoom meetings and writing emails is not a job

Ah but to get there you had to pass hurdles like exams and uni.

Also although there are crap fake jobs like that which add nothing, a lot of real middle class jobs are like accountant/doctor/software programmer/academic ect

Too right you are lad. The middle classes are the best stock of the English race.
>>

This is exactly what I have always thought. We need a brutal authoritarian state in which the chav council estate mongs are fitted with electric shock collars. Middle class lads would have control over the chav shock collars. They would turn up the voltage if the chavs were getting uppity.

Dunno lad. He seems like a complete cunt. I hate him so much.
Smelly bastards. Weaker

He is some cunt from Luton who always spams these threads with threats of fucking eugenics and genocide and shit. He is a Luton middle class mong who was bullied by chavs and shit as a kid.

>Always found it weird when blokes shaved off all their public hair
I shave mine. Its normal. Most girls dont like men to have unkempt jungles down there mate. And they dont want pubic hairs in their mouth when giving a BJ

His name is Paul. He posted here these last few years. Trying to get a rise out of people. Complete fucking loser if you ask me.
>>

If that were true this country wouldn't be in such a pathetic state right now. Everything was better when the upper class ran everything. We had the empire, functional government, competent leaders. Then over the 20th century the middle class took over institutional power and from then on we've been in terminal decline. You can pretty much track the decline of Britain by the number of titled names in the cabinet. The middle class really are no better than the working class. In fact, they're probably worse because they're the ones who fucked everything up.

Ive never shaved in my life and no girl ever complained

Stephen Fry makes his escape across the channel. After a run of bad reviews about his performance in the west end play Cell Mates, Fry became immensely depressed and tried to kill himself. He eventually decided to take a ferry to France and fantasised about teaching English in Belgium for the rest of his life.

Have you ever had a Stephen Fry moment. Just completely lost it and almost an hero and just ran away somewhere?
