God doesn't answer because he killed himself, but because he is omnipotent he is also incapable of truly killing himself so his scattered living corpse became the universe. It is only in death that peace be found, and it is only in the end of all life can god himself know the same peace. That is the only cosmological argument I have read that answers the problem with god's uncaring honestly, believe it if you want or not.
