The crying over new slang just seems like old faggots refusing to admit they are old

>>84306705
if this is such a problem to you then you live a problem free life

I'm old. I'm an "unc". I remember when i was in middle school, and "gay" just meant "bad". Like, "we have a pop quiz today!? Dann it, that's so gay!" It seemed like no one was ever openly gay back then. It just didn't exist outside of a few gag characters on TV.

"Lowkey" is overused, but wasn't a useless word. In a world where everyone is exaggerating and hyping things up, I see why "lowkey" caught on, as a refreshing downtowner. But then, it gets misapplied to everything, and overused. What really bothers me is "not gonna lie". That just makes me think that you have the reputation of a known liar, so you need to constantly reassure people that you're being honest this time. And, like "lowkey", it gets overused and misapplied. "Not gonna lie, I'm really enjoying these McDonalds fries." Ok, but why would you ever have lied about that? Why do you feel the need to reassure me that you're being honest right now?

oldfag here.
some of the new slang was invented by us, this "sigma" shit came from Vox Day who is even older than me.
some of it is... good. I like "crashout". It accurately describes what is going on.
we had expressions like "lowkey" in our day too, "on the quiet" is something I remember.
I think I speak for a lot of genx, and younger here, when I say that shit like "no cap" is fucking stupid.
Also "sick" for "I really like it" was always terrible, but everything from the millennials is terrible.
