>>84307376I was in the BSA, and hit Eagle right before I hit the 18-year cut-off. It was cool, and I learned many useful skills. I got to have some experiences many kids don't anymore. I appreciate it more in retrospect as a jaded man than I did as a depressed little kid. I can't speak for modern "Scouts" where its values and tolerances are different, but the old BSA was worth the time I spent in it.
>>84307376yeah.it was alright. doing all the fun stuff and going camping a lot was great, but most of the other indoors meetings were pretty boring, i don't even really remember most of them other than like, making birdhouses or pinewood derbies. at a certain point with my tism tantrums back then my parents decided it just wasn't worth the effort to keep me in scouts so i never made eagle scout like my older brother and his friends. i did however still get to hang out and go camping whenever they did scouting stuff, so it was close enough.still love the outdoors, camping, fishing, all that stuff.
