This idea of someone permanently being dependent on medication for the rest of their life basically didn't exist until the mid 1900s, when someone realized insulin was a cash cow and wanted to try to replicate it with other addictions.
Really ramped up after synthetic insulin became more widely available in the 1980s, and by the 1990s they were putting children on birth control and SSRIs, disabling them into lifelong customers.

I started taking an antidepressant and I've felt like I'm having a low-level panic attack the last few days and have been even less capable. Hoping if it's having this much of a negative effect initially it'll have a really strong positive effect once it starts working.

Because I know I'm stronger than my brain
>like it, do it

What are you taking to increase your productivity then if you're not doing ADHD meds?
>>
>>84308446
What meds are you taking? Mine have just a subtle effect on me

Turning people into drug addicts because they're having a mentally healthy reaction to depressing/psychotic circumstances is a pretty good joke.
Profitable, too!

there is no justice in this world and no reward for raw-dogging society
>>
>>84308617
The reward is the shock on people's faces after I become an hero in the middle of the Mall
>>
>>84308617
People capable of raw dogging reality are the only ones capable of breeding true.
Everyone else is like a surgically addicted asian couple upset their kids are fucking ugly (i.e.,asian looking).

For many reasons
>for so many of the most common reasons to take medications, lifestyle is many times superior or equal to medications
Many reverse their health issues when they start working out and watching what they eat. Obese people are an example.

>doctors overprescribe to the point that it's impossible to the point of there being no interactions
Then they sometimes have to prescribe a medication to counter the negative effects of interaction or due to a side effect, only to prescribe another for the same thing to that drug being used to counter the original, only for the same thing to happen. Look at the mental health patients that are walking pharmacies. This is what is happening and why they're on so many medications.

>it's just an easy justified reason to stay complacent and not work on one's self
Again with obese people: they give reasons to not workout and eat right. Proof? GLP-1 medications.

>most mental health issues are treated with CBT
Cognitive behavioral therapy has been shown repeatedly to help so many conditions. Almost all patients with mental health issues are really just adjustment disorders which are temporary.

>profits
The costs of developing a medication are very quickly wiped away once they hit the market even at a cheap price. There's zero reason for brand name medications to be as high as they are.
