If singularity is coming as predicted by Ray Kurzweil who has been right about everything so far by the end of this year, given chaos theory I predict humanity has like 2 years left max. World superpowers will have self augmenting infinite intelligence at their disposal. Imagine the amount of cyberattacks, viruses, insane weaponry, all beyond our comprehension, develop in the span of months. Any tiny disparity in AGI development between countries will lead to total imperial domination due to the exponential intelligence growth. The amount of potentially destructive factors and entropy will be so high that countering them will be impossible.
>>84308463AGI is already here and it's contained.
actually its more frightening than that. once they perfect robots and have armies of ai robots what do you think theyre going to do with all of us? They wouldnt need most of us by that point
FISHIsSuperHuman
>>84308479i believe you still need super intelligence for that level of mass scale production no? like you would need it to reduce costs to a trivial amount so in the USA you could replace 200 million workers or so. it's too expensive to make 200 million robots with anything near current expenditures. so you'd need some superintellgience to optimize costs and find ways to build them without needing rare earth materials and other expensive things that could act as hard caps to it. so maybe i don't know build chips out of copper or regular materials used in cheap hardware. this is all pseud speculation but yeah i don't think they can do that yet, but if kurzweil is right and you get this infinite intelligence expansion like literally god in a machine then it will be pretty easy to do i think.
>>84308463Yeah until you realize that it runs on electricity which is limited dorkEven assuming that we found a scalable way to turn electricity into intelligence it doesn't change the fact that the former is limited.
>>84308463LLM's have been a massively overhyped investment grift and they require too much overhead cost to run for the bubble to go on forever. Nothing ever happens. I'm not letting people live this down I'm going to make fun of everybody that bought into this stupid shit same as NFT, cryptocurrency and metaverse.
>>84308479Genocidal slaughterbots is romantic, but it would be safer and easier to collapse birthrates below replacement, so populations dwindled naturally without a lot of fanfare. Some areas might have populations large and smart enough to notice and think about fight back, but you could flood those nations with browns until they were so fractured and diluted the conversion to enslaved economic zone would require only minimal direct suppression. So be on the lookout for things like that happening.
>>84308504It's still kind of a big deal
>>84308501i guess if we can algorithmically predict a hard cap on intelligence to electricity ratio. because something with infinite intelligence may need very high electricity costs to operate even if the intelligence reduces costs massively through self optimization. but just the fact that it's near infinite implies it would carry a lot of operations which would still require a lot of electricity. i suppose we can cap it at a certain amount needed for practical purposes, like building a railroad system in a day or something crazy like that or designing and building a 20 meter tall mecha robot in 5 minutes. at that point i think it really wouldn't be a problem, it'd probably figure out a way to get energy extraction to keep going if it's that advanced to be honnest.
>>84308495>you would need it to reduce costs to a trivial amount so in the USA you could replace 200 million workers or so. it's too expensive to make 200 million robots with anything near current expendituresYou're doing the wrong math. You aren't replacing 200 million human workers with 200 million robot workers. How many human slaves can the machine overseer control?
>>84308511Right just like everybody buys everything in crypto now. Gullible people are why tulip markets and hype cycles exist. You can't fathom that the whole thing is bullshit and won't amount to anything.
>>84308532Pretty much the only time I buy anything in currency is when there a problem with buying it in crypto.Or do you think swiping your debit card doesn't count?
>>84308524The world isn't a fantasy there's no such thing as infinite optimization. There are limits and we aren't that far.I would recommend you read the paper titled "Theoretical limits of nanocomputing"
>>84308526that's true. i guess i was thinking to keep the elites happy you'd need a national economy so just putting down the normies and killing them would kill their luxuries also. the economy is a vast system of energy extraction transportation logistics infrastructure, so an elite still needs us or has to replace us. but if it just kills everyone and builds a tiny little island for the remaining people without needing a national economy it would be feasible. sounds far fetched though.
>>84308539ill check it out sounds good. still think we're fucked though lol.
>>84308541>the economy is a vast system of energy extraction transportation logistics infrastructure, so an elite still needs us or has to replace us.Thus why you have the machine overseer make sure the 200 million human slaves keep maintaining the necessary economic output.
>right about everythingMan predicted self driving cars being commonplace and ate up the nanobot meme
>>84308556The future is fake and gay and genAI probably doesn't help but the threat of le AI singularity is also fake and gayAI still has nothing on the human brain. Distributed, parallel computing. Simulateously self annihiliating and self replicating. In the end all computers built from transitiors are limited in their synaptic connections and are limited the fact the mostly follow a deterministic model by design

Kurzweil predicted 2045 for the crazy million times faster than humans shit and I think around this year for AGI, so we have a lot of times left for the real crazy shit going off his predictions at least
