yea I imagine the pitch went something like "what if wooden building blocks were easier and cheaper to mass produce in attractive shapes and colors and could snap together, holding their shape? what if instead of selling one set of building blocks to a child we could sell multiple over the course of their lifetime?"
I don't know how the pitching process went back then but you do that with any ubiquitous product and it's generally a good investment
